I have been having an issue with my music randomly pausing for the last week or so since upgrading to the latest software (version: 23.4.A.0.546)

It may or may not be related to the latest software patch, however the pausing has become increasingly frequent (sometimes pausing up to 3 - 4 times in a single minute)

I have never encountered this issue before now. I can also confirm that music does not pause itself when its being played through the speakers. Swapping out headphones made no difference to the problem. I have restarted the device several times. The pauses occur regardless of what music app I use.

This issue is really impacting my enjoyment of the device as I listen to music whenever I walk anywhere and my Z3c is my only mobile music player.

The phone has not been exposed to the elements recently, has not been dropped or damaged. The headphone port appears to be clean and tidy.

Update for you all, I did a factory reset of the phone last night. Tested this morning and intermittent pauses of music still occur with head phones plugged in.

How did you factory reset the phone?

I went to Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset > ticked 'Erase all internal storage' and Reset the phone

I took the phone back to the Sony store - they have sent it away to get repaired. Will let you know outcome

I have the same issue and I am on the phone with Sony support to send it in for repair now.

It's a hardware failure where any slight touch or jostle will cause the headphone connection to disconnect and the audio will pause.

I have tried multiple headphones (including the ones that came with my Z3C) and other 3.5m cables (I use one for my car) and they all exhibit the same behavior.
