Headphones - Music and Audio randomly pauses intermitently without interacting with device at all

I have been having an issue with my music randomly pausing for the last week or so since upgrading to the latest software (version: 23.4.A.0.546) 

It may or may not be related to the latest software patch, however the pausing has become increasingly frequent (sometimes pausing up to 3 - 4 times in a single minute)

I have never encountered this issue before now. I can also confirm that music does not pause itself when its being played through the speakers. Swapping out headphones made no difference to the problem. I have restarted the device several times. The pauses occur regardless of what music app I use.

This issue is really impacting my enjoyment of the device as I listen to music whenever I walk anywhere and my Z3c is my only mobile music player.

The phone has not been exposed to the elements recently, has not been dropped or damaged. The headphone port appears to be clean and tidy.

Have you had a chance to test using another pair of headphones just to be sure?

From reading this thread is it fair to say that Sony will replace the headphone jack, no claiming it a consumable etc?

The warranty repair process can vary for different markets but in general your device needs to be examined by an authorised service center first. I recommend that you contact your Local support team for more information.

Just wanted to let you know, that I have the same issue.

Sony Experia Z3+ - many people reports it, so it's more than just Sony having the issue; it's on a lot of android phones..
