I have been having an issue with my music randomly pausing for the last week or so since upgrading to the latest software (version: 23.4.A.0.546)
It may or may not be related to the latest software patch, however the pausing has become increasingly frequent (sometimes pausing up to 3 - 4 times in a single minute)
I have never encountered this issue before now. I can also confirm that music does not pause itself when its being played through the speakers. Swapping out headphones made no difference to the problem. I have restarted the device several times. The pauses occur regardless of what music app I use.
This issue is really impacting my enjoyment of the device as I listen to music whenever I walk anywhere and my Z3c is my only mobile music player.
I have searched and searched and found that others seem to be facing similar issues - see this post on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/comments/2ohvh0/music_randomly_pausing_on_z3c_headphone_jack_iss...
The phone has not been exposed to the elements recently, has not been dropped or damaged. The headphone port appears to be clean and tidy.
Please help!
The music is stored in my 64GB storage card.
However this issue also occurs for applications such as Pandora and FM Radio and Soundcloud
Do you have a taskiller or antivirus or battery app? perhaps stamina mode on?
Just the standard task killer, standard AVG PRO anti virus that comes with the phone and no, stamina mode is not enabled.
If this occurs only with headphones (not loud speakers), try this:
- Go to Settings -> Apps -> Smart Connect -> Force stop, Unistall updates, Clear data.
- Go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Audio settings -> Clear data and restart your phone.
- Go to your Play Store and update Smart Connect again.
Tried these suggestions, tested. No dice
I went to the Sony store yesterday afternoon, they suggested that I do a full factory reset of the phone which i'll do this weekend. Will let ya know if this resolves the problem
