The receivers always hear an echo from my phone, and the soud quality is bad.
I tried to change all the sound settings available, nothing works.
Anyone had same issue already ?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If there's echo during calls, please make sure that your phone is updated with the latest software, 17.1.2.A.0.314. You can see your version under Settings -> About phone -> Build number.
To update your phone, go to Settings -> About phone -> Software update. You can also update your phone using a computer: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-z2/
I'm on 17.1.2.A.0.314 and this update didn't help at all I'm afraid.
I also have the echoing issue and I have the most up to date software. I am sick of having of having to repeat everything several times just to give up and write a text or an email!
same problem for me .....
Sony needs to focus on Xperia Z2 ( ITS THE ACTUAL FLAGSHIP ) BEST PHONE WORST SUPPORT
After the update if still the same problem, have you tried to change the microphone settings?
Go Settings > Call Settings >
- Make sure Microphone noise suppression is Checked on the checkbox
- Speaker voice enhancement is also checked on the checkbox
- Equalizer change to smooth or bright.
Monitor and see if improves.
I don't have any echo... but just a simple question if you're already talking.
Should the phone screen be operative during phone calls etc.. ?
I mean I had some important call few time ago, and I put the phone on the table with loud speaker ON and tried to go to main screen for recording app... i was shocked that only option to do was End Call, no house icon to press to see home screen or squere with last used. Is it possible? Did phone froze from some error that I coudn't go to installed apps during a call?
Sorry to hear that some of you still have this issue with the latest software.
In case this issue remains with the latest version i recommend that you contact a service location or your local support team for assistance.
@hedrox87
As long as you don't cover the proximity sensor you should be able to use the phone during a call. If you still have this issue, try restarting the phone and also try safe mode if a restart doesn't help.
THX Rickard, after RED button turn off and restart, the home button and other android options are back.
Everything is OK now
P.S.: Echo during calls is not software related.. Father had same on Z1 and only during loud speaking mode, some strange sounds like cracking and water drops in background too. The device was replaced by service due to some low performing mic and speaker series. The echo was there even on 4.4.4 update, so I am sure it's not system related. Just giving you a tip.
Glad to hear that it works now
As you say, there may be several causes for echo (for example network, counterparts phone, too loud volume using some handsfrees) but we did have an issue in the software that could cause it under certain circumstances which is fixed in the latest software. If there's always an echo during calls and the phone is updated i would recommend that have the phone checked by a service location to make sure it's not something wrong with the phone.
