Echo issues during phone call

The receivers always hear an echo from my phone, and the soud quality is bad.

I tried to change all the sound settings available, nothing works.

Anyone had same issue already ?

Today the .314 has started to roll out. Maybe this solves your problem as the voice quality seems to be a point in the changelog.

My new Z2 has the issues:

During phonecalls

- Microphone perfomance is very weak, so that my voice is only very muffled, stacked and with static noise so that the other party cannot understand me

- the other party has a serious echo of his own voice

The phone is ununsuable for telephoning.

Seriously, what was Sony thinking?

Is there no quality control for their products?

i will not suggest any one to buy this phone as sony as a company is not even bother with any statement ... unlike iphone .

shame on you sony .. BETTER FIX THIS SOONER BEFORE ITS TOO LATE FOR YOU.

.314 has fixed muffled speakerphone/microphone issues for me! It's still worse than my old HTC Sensation a bit, but much-much better than before! Give it a try.

Let me start by saying I don't work for any telco or phone shops although have had offers. My sister just got a z2 after playing with mine. She had the echo issue and called me. After experiments and questions I found it was actually due to the way the phone sat on her face. As I have a big head I never had a problem but due to the positioning of the large phone on her face it was flush to her face and actually caused an issue. Had her hold the phone approx 40deg from her face ear on receiver or speaker. Boom instant clarity on both ends. Hope this helps u guys

I bought the Xperia 2 roughly six weeks ago and had two noticeable problems. The first was the echo on the receivers end, which made conversations very difficult. The second was problemswith the microphone. Unless I was speaking directly and very loudly into the phone nobody could understand me. If I shifted the position of the phone even to a slight angle I became completely unintelligible. I just sent my phone in for repair and all they did was update the firmware. That seems to have solved the second problem but people still get a nasty echo when talking to me. Very frustrating because I'm going to have to bring it in again, but it basically seems like they don't have any solutions to this problem.

The person on the other end can't hear me properly. Very fustrating. Have turned off noise cancelleing.

Anything else I can do?

By updating firmware will it wipe all my set up?

I have noticed a few people posting in regards to their Xperia Z2 having an echo issue. I am currently experiencing the same issue, I have contacted the xperia care line multiple times and the sony store in brisbane australia where I purchased the phone, (worst customer service I have recieved).

How did the rest of you guys manage to fix this issue, did it have to be sent away?
