Echo issues during phone call

The receivers always hear an echo from my phone, and the soud quality is bad.

I tried to change all the sound settings available, nothing works.

Anyone had same issue already ?

I got a xperia z2 prototye. model 6503. 
Everything is working fine, except the call quality. i can hear and understand very well, but the other person has echoes, and very bad sound..
When I use a heatset, there is no problem. and it is almost good, when I put the phone on the table, with speaker on. The problem is worst, when I hold the phone on my ear..

Is it a hard- or software related problem?

The firmware in your phone is an older version and we've made improvements for call audio and echo in the updates we released. I suggest that you contact the person who gave you this prototype to have it updated to the latest version, 23.0.1.A.0.167.

My phone is under the last version 23.0.1.A.0.167 and still the same problem, my caller dosen't hear me...

What can I do ? I just want my phone works 😞

Hi,

Exactly the same issues with ear sound noisy cheap quality calls that I hear. This is my second phone and same problem!. even my agent is started denying the problem just to avoid changing my phone to third one.
I have sent Sony many emails but it seems Sony wants to keep its failure and losses on their customers instead of fixing the real problems. any one wants to buy Sony becarful it seems all Z2 having these call sound quality problems!

I'm afraid I have the same problem, only on a Sony Xperia Z1 compact. With a head set no issues. Without people on the other side have a terrible echo.

I did restore to factory settings, have the lates firmware, nothing works.....

Hi all

I had 1 Z2 with a working Mic, not great but working, and another one (Girlfriend) with the bad mic, echo and bad signal quality for all receivers. We returned her phone and we went through 2 extra Z2s, they all had the problem to some degree. One of the new Z2 didn't have the echo issue but low and bad reception compared to any other phone we have. I ended up byiing a Z3 and the problems are gone.

I love the phones but I feel cheated by Sony, I have a phone that we've never been able to use and replacements didn't fix the problem and with no upgrade patch to Z3 the phone is now just sitting here and no one wants to use it.

I have the same problem (sometimes the quality is OK, most of the time ppl tell thay can bareely understand me and I sound as if was under water) and the funny thing is I am using a handset provided by Sony as a replacement for my previous phone which was leaking water. I tried with the noise suppresion off (no luck) then I sent it to Sony and got it back with a note that it was fine. I called Sony customer service from the phone and they admitted the quality was awful and booked me a "VIP" repair service. Shortly after I received the phone back with a note saying it was fine. Happy days. I just got a Moto G 2nd gen as a temporary/back up phone and I will not buy Sony products anymore (so disappointed as overall I loved the Z2).
