Xperia Z5 ring volume

Xperia Z5 ring volume

Upgraded software to 5.1.1 and since then the ring volume turns itself fully down and won't let me adjust. All other volumes are working fine.

Will work for a little while after turning off and on again.

Any ideas?

I saw this mentioned in another forum. Turned out to be Sim City BuildIt. Do you perhaps have this app installed and if so, does it help if you remove it?

Hi Wellarby,

Welcome to the community!

Do you have "Do not disturb" enabled?

To check this go to Settings > Sound & notification > Do not disturb.

You can also check this by tapping the volume key, and then the icon next to the volume slider. If it's a cross, DND is turned on. Make sure it's a bell icon.

Hi CameronT,

DND not on, the icon is a bell. If I use the volume button on the side nothing happens at all. If I try and manually slide it the blue line flashes up and straight back down again.

If I go through settings the media volume and alarm volume are both as normal but the ring volume is faded out and won't let me change it at all.

Thanks for having me!

Can you start your phone into safe mode and see if the same thing is happening?

I'm having the same problem.dnd turns itself on every 8 hours.I have tired all the resets and nothing has worked.is it a software issue.will I have to reset phone back to factory settings?

Welcome to the community @Brencons.

DND mode has an option to automatically enable at specific times and days. you can check this in Settings > Sound & notification > Do not disturb. Check that this is not enabled.

If it's not, have you tried the phone in safe mode too? If the issue is the same I recommend running a software repair. There's information on how to back up your phone here too.
