Country lock!

I bought my Xperia Z3 phone in the Philippines when I was still working there last 2013. But could not use it anymore here in USA with a US sim card. The tech support told me that probably my phone is country lock. I had use different sim cards when I was still in the Philippines. But the phone has no signal bars when I insert my US sim card here.

did it requested a pin to unlock the phone? was the phone network branded or locked to a carrier?

No it did not asked any pin. 

The sim card that I inserted was an AT&T nano sim.
