Upgraded software to 5.1.1 and since then the ring volume turns itself fully down and won't let me adjust. All other volumes are working fine.
Will work for a little while after turning off and on again.
Any ideas?

I don't think it is a system or default app (you said in safe mode the problem didn't come up). So it is something you have installed, you can try to force stop some of them.
Is there anything I should absolutely avoid force stopping?
If you force stop an important system app (however you aren't allowed with most of them), it will start again.
Had this problem since the past two days. The ring volume simply greyed out that I am unable to hear any incoming call. Didnt want to factory reset, so tried one solution in one of the forum i.e. removing and reinserting SIM card --- it worked!
