I don't manage those policies myself, but I understood there's some product (not ms) that is used to manage those policies. One of them controls that specific setting called "no widgets on lock screen" in previous android versions (not lollipop)
EDIT: correction, I was just told is controlled via MS tools, but something there was able to control the "no widgets on lock screen setting" for ealier android versions.
I discovered that using Mailwise for exchange account doesn't interfere with the notifications, so until it's fixed, at least there's a third party workaround.
BTW. I for one consider the swipe before pin an excellent feature, which hopefully will prevent my phone from wiping itselt third time during a run... Although an option for quick unlock(like in cyanogenmod) would be great.
Yes, third party apps will work. There is actually even an official MS outlook app now. However, the integration with the phone's mail, calendar and phone book is obviously not as good. Also, for some reason the Outlook app required me to hav a password instead of a PIN, which is a terribly slow and inconvenient way of unlocking a phone.
Seems like youre stretching to explain a bug as a feature. If this is the way it was intended to work, it would probably have been implemented this way on iPhone, Windows Phone, and all other Androids including Experias with previous versions, and the other Lolipop implementations or at least reported as bugs if it wasn't. No, this is a bug, and needs to be fixed, not explained away. And don't get me started on the suggested workaround...
I assume sony is taking this issue seriously, but just in case they aren't, here is why they should.
Yes, at the moment there are only twenty-odd people here at the forums complaing. Most of them will even find some kind of workaround.
But at the same time, this issue is affecting thousands of users who don't even realize there is an issue. They've never tried lollipop before, so they don't know there are supposed to be notifications on the lock screen. One thing they do know though:
Their phone just got updated, and the notification icons are gone, and so are the media controls. There is essentially no way to see if someone has called, messaged or mailed you without unlocking your phone. But they don't know that is something wrong. They just think the new update. And they're starting to think Sony. And their next phone will be an iPhone.
Edit: I didn't write bleep, that is the forums automatic word filter. I wrote some unoffensive word that essentially means "is bad".
Same issue here, since Lollipop update I cannot see any notifications at all, not only business email but also facebook, gmail, nothing works. Not even controls for music player or Spotify shows up on the lock screen. I had a Nexus 5 with lollipop before and this was NOT an issue.
