Like we keep saying we aren't Sony employed and this is a user led support forum - I grow tired of answering the same questions with the same reply - It's becoming monotonous now we have members like you who then think it necessary to call members ignorant - So I ask who's ignorant me or the members that can't be bothered to read the plethora of answers to the same questions, If you aren't happy and want more specific answers then speak to Xperia care
It is the same at our company. A total purchase stop of Sony phones.
They have become pretty much useless as a business phone.
Hi Thommo,
I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find your answer to the topic of this thread. You say that there are a plethora of answers, and we just don't understand, but none of us are actually able to find those answers. So please, could you provide us with this answer that you say we don't understand? I assure you I won't ask again.
It's now a month since the bug / or "designed feature" was reported and the feedback from Sony/official hold has not lived up to what to except.
I have spoken with Sony Support and they do not have any information of patches or when they are distributed.
They didn't know of any problem related to Active Sync either...so that was a waste of time.
There is an update floating around (23.1.A.0.726) that is suppose to fix the notification-bug, but it has yet not been distributed worldwide unknown of reason.
Much of the frustration in this thread comes from the lack of better feedback and the early and to easy response that it's a designed feature working as intended.
Sony Support knows about the bug, and it would be smart for Sony Support to post something with the following info:
- that there can be problem related to Z3 / Lollipop and notification in special cases
- that there is a patch that will fix the problem
- schedule of when the patch will be released in different countries
- what users will have to manually do to get notification to work - if the patch-process doesn't fix it automatically
Please Sony, you should really shape up related to feedback on this issue.
I know that Moderators and Sony Support are not responible for the feature, but they *are* in the position to inform back to us users and help us calm down by providing information that is needed.
with regards
Knut
- Currently not a happy Z3-user (phone is still not patched)
- btw: I'm not recommending the Z3 as a business phone in our company now.
As some of you have already noticed, this has been changed in the latest update, 23.1.A.0.726, but you may need to remove the account and add it again after the update.
Depending on where you bought the phone you may however not have received this update yet as it may need local and operator approvals before it can be released for your device.
I'm afraid that's not possible for me to say. It depends on local and operator approvals.
Any thoughts on the lock screen not lighting up on notifications?
I get the LED and vibration. I go to the notification settings and it's set to "Show all notification content".
This was the case with a Z3 Compact direct from Sony and with a regular Z3 from a retailer. Both were upgraded to the .726 update.
On the Z3C I did a Factory Data Reset and a complete rebuild from the PC Companion too just to make sure it wasn't some kind of setting stuck in there.
With the Z3 I just used all the defaults when it was new out of hte box and still it wouldn't light the screen.
Is there something I'm missing?
I have the same problem, after updating to lollipop.
I just downloded an app called Nine, from the play store, that works with Microsoft Exchange and will show notification on lock screen.
After configuring the app, you can set the lock screen, in the security settings, manually.
Works fine.
Is this update (notifications get shown on lock screen) available for Z3 Dual as well? Thank you.
