Echo issues during phone call

The receivers always hear an echo from my phone, and the soud quality is bad.

I tried to change all the sound settings available, nothing works.

Anyone had same issue already ?

Im also on my third phone. Still having issues.. Sony should stop all sales on Z2 and fix their problems, not making more of them.

Hi there,

after testing for a long while it seems to me that the call quality depends on how I hold my phone.
If I have it between shoulder and ear - to have the hands free - the quality is really bad. Echo/Metallic sound on the caller side and poor quality on my side.

A nearly good quality for me and the caller is achieved by holding the phone only at the bottom without touching the backplate.

Maybe you others with the sme issues can test this solution.

If this workaround is approved by other users, there is a problem with the mobile antenna maybe.

Best Regards

arni

P.S.: All tests were done with noise cancellation enabled and disabled.

Can someone from Sony give us an official reply on what is happening on this issue? I rang sony support again and they want me to post my 1 week old z2 to be checked out by them. I use my phone for buisness and what am I supposed to do for 7-10 working days without a handset? I am getting really annoyed at this, should have not bothered. help and aknowledgement from Sony has been rubbish so far, PM'd my phone details to the sony chap on this forum but I am not sure what is going to happen. What a big dissapointment. If Sony can't sort this out I am definatley not going to bother with any of their mobile products in the future.

This is not a new issue since every brand like Apple, Samsung, LG and Nokia  users all experienced this problem. However, it's very hard to pin point why and how this can be overcome.  Some say removing covers will help. Others believe that it has something to do with the radio station that you phone is connected to. So for those who think this is uniquely  a Z2 issue, you may find the same in other phones too.

I got the same problem, poor quality while speaking, on my end I notice background noice as soon as the other one speaks. The sound levels drops now and then making it impossible to hear the other person. The other person says I am lagging alot when speaking.

This is my second Z2 in 7 days. The second one have same problems.

Also I think I have found the problem, I dont think it is the microphone or speaker of the phone. I actually think it is signal problems. I loose signal alot faster than compared to my old phone ( samsung s3 ). And even when standing still and have full 4G connection, it can suddenly drop and then quickly go to full strength again.

It is.not a network issue. I have put the same simcard. In other phones and not experienced this issue. It is.all to do with the z2. It blatantly is, excuse the language, a garbage phone if.it can't make.calls.properly

Wazy15, even garbage has it's price. Sell and buy S5 or HTC M8. It may be just a ROM issue like Galaxy S2 & just a simple upgrade from Sony may solve the issue. But these are just rubbish to you. Hope you get a better phone soon.
