Xperia Z1 camera - blurry pictures with noise and washed colours

Hi Everyone,

I'm a little concerned about the performance of the Xperia Z1 camera.

I had read already in some reviews that the pictures are not too sharp and the colours are washed, but now i have experienced it myself.

This camera should be way better than the camera in the iPhone 5, but i'm getting sharper images and more realistic colours with the iPhone. There is a lot of noise in the Z1 pictures, the Superior Auto mode is not getting things right, neither in focus, picture sharpness or colors.

I was expecting this camera to be very sharp and accurate, but i found out it's not near that. As per all the effort Sony has put in advertising the Z1 camera, i think we should get a software update and improve the camera a lot.

Do you think this is a software problem? Every Xperia Z1 review i've read points that out.

My fist phone was a xperia neo and then i had a xperia s they both took nice picture without any bluryness but the z1 blurry pictures. So please sony fix this with the upcoming lollipop update because when we bought your phone we conumers trusted you guys so give us a good feedback i know you guys could do this and im a big fan of your phones i've had for phones utnil now and they were all from sony i like you guys that much so please give us a update with the lollipop update .Thank you

There's really no point at all for everyone adding "I have the same problem" type of comment. It's obvious that you do, otherwise you wouldn't be here.

Keep in mind that the blurr and the no-focus issue is not necessarily a software problem. I had it and it turned out the lense outer glass at the back was dirty from everyday use and was created a thin transparent layer of... whatever it was. I took some window cleaner chemical and my problem was solved.

I still think Sony can improve the software a bit. Although I can see their logic. After all we have Z2, Z3 and even Z4 on the line soon. Z2 doesn't have this problem, because they fixed it there and present it like "new and improved". Even though they use exactly the same camera.

Bottom line: In order to sell the new product, he has to be some kind of improvement of the previous one.

Cheers!

I too had the 'fog around' problem with all pictures.

I removed the plastic cling film that covers the entire back of the phone and voila..picture perfect!

I got Z1 a year ago. I use it a lot for taking pictures. The quality was really nice. Some time during the last 6 months all my pictures started getting overexposed and blurred. I found others on the net with the same experience.
please anyone can suggest solution.

@techlover5

Could you elaborate on the issue? have you checked if the camera lens its dirty, scratched, etc? You could repair the phone with PCC and check if its a software issue
