Got my Xperia Z5 Compact a few days ago, when I set up the fingerprint scanner it asked for a password, so I introduced mine but wrote it down anyway just in case. Now the scanner got dissabled (after a few unlocking attempts where it didn't recognized my fingerprint) and when I enter the password (which I know is correct as I entered twice for confirmation) it says it's incorrect...
I've read about this problem with the Z5, just didn't thought I was gonna get it so soon. Hope my screen doesn't crack on itself next, as I read other people's do..
Any solution?
Edit: 'Xperia Companion' doesn't allow any action as it says the device is locked.
Running Lollipop 5.1.1
No support either I see, just peachy!
OK, so if you're in the same situation as me, and given Sony's complete lack of support, you can do the following:
Go to Google Android Device Manager and perform a factory reset with the "erase" button, you'll lose all your data but at least you'll have a functioning phone again.
This will only work if you had set up a Google account on your phone.
And of course, avoid using Sony's incredibly flawed fingerprint system (which will block after a few attempts to read your print and will NOT recognize your set password) if you want to avoid this situation on the first place..
