Xperia Z1 camera - blurry pictures with noise and washed colours

Hi Everyone,

I'm a little concerned about the performance of the Xperia Z1 camera.

I had read already in some reviews that the pictures are not too sharp and the colours are washed, but now i have experienced it myself.

This camera should be way better than the camera in the iPhone 5, but i'm getting sharper images and more realistic colours with the iPhone. There is a lot of noise in the Z1 pictures, the Superior Auto mode is not getting things right, neither in focus, picture sharpness or colors.

I was expecting this camera to be very sharp and accurate, but i found out it's not near that. As per all the effort Sony has put in advertising the Z1 camera, i think we should get a software update and improve the camera a lot.

Do you think this is a software problem? Every Xperia Z1 review i've read points that out.

Z2 BEATEN BY LG WHICH IS USING OLD sony  HARDWARE on lg g3 this is only becasue of software sonys software poor very bad its sh1t 

what more proof you want sony ruining the software since the launch of xperia z

I believe Sony already knows the problem and is totally incapable to solve it. Come on Sony, you are not cut out to handle this. Its a much bigger shame for a company known for its products and brand value to market a costly piece of junk. Even the newer phones like a Moto G that have hardly 5 MP cameras take better pictures. With due respect to everyone's suggestions, I played with all kind of apps and settings. I am not a professional photographer but if I have to stand in specific places under lights, the subject has to do the same thing - both in order to get so called better pictures, its a complete waste. When your child starts walking for the first time you can't tell him/her to stand in specific places. When your car travels in a serene landscape you can't go to the other side. I can go on but its a waste and a pity that so many users had to post such negative feedbacks but nothing changed. So, last word in! The camera, and as a rusult - the phone, is a total waste. I am writing this on this forum with the hope that Sony has real people reading these posts and not robots. Take notice and compensate your customers for what they deserve. This will probably be my last Sony product, not just the dumb phone, until Sony provides a resolution.

i also believe the camera software is not good on z1 its poor other brand like one plus one has better results and it uses sonys 13mp hardware which is inferior to ours 20.7 hardware but one plus one has superior images to z1

I do have the same issue of llate. It seems as if the lens is fogged and I can't do anything about it. I tried all the settings and the problem persists. The camers used to be one delight, it's no more so

Recent (1 month) Z1-compact takes very grainy pictures, much worst than my 2 year old Xperia U.

I almost can not believe such bad images. unfortunatly can not send back, but have learned my lesson...

trying to use it to archive some bills, but i can not read the text , pictures taken with auto, from 30 cms

what is the point of buying the "best specs camera" if it does not work like it should ?

i am not great photographer, but using both phones the diference is clear, and the top-quality-camera is vary bad.

sony will not get my money ever again.

i will buy motorola, nexus, samsung, lg, whatever, but not sony

This **bleep** I have the same problem I was going to buy a Samsung phone when I saw the display seen it was water proof. Thats what convinced me to buy that and the fact that it was Sony. I've missed capturing so many of my kids moments because of this camera. I think Sony should upgrade us all with new phones or refund us all with the same problem. The bad thing is that first months it was working good y have friends who bought it because of me and now there cameras are the same way.
