storage full although i have 900Mb over

i want to know from the sony tech's how i deal with this problem.

I need to update my apps, i have apx 900mb storage left BUT my phone says i can't update my apps because i have not enough storage space left. I do have storage space left but ...

how to solve this.

Just to make things clear, settings  > storage > you have 900MB FREE "internal storage" NOT SD card correct?
