Xperia Sola not starting after 6.0.b.3.184 upgrade

Hi All,

I have bought xperia sola a month back i was satisfied with this product till now except few lackness like old headset not supported etc.

But two days ago my actual problem has started this device has giving me errors for "Process com sonyericsson.process.eventstream has stopped unexpectedly" there was no single application that was not giving the error including "facebook.katana" "process.conversation""process.messaging" "process.media" everything, in short the whole phone was misbehaving.

Then i read one of your discussions stating that an update may fix all such aforesaid problems.I followed all the steps which the update process mentioned .Gone through PC companion , prepared computer , installed updates on my PHONE, when PC companion alerted me that "MY PHONE IS SUCCESSFULLY UPDATED" i need now to disconnect the phone from computer and then after 5 seconds or so it will get started " THE PHONE WILL TAKE MORE TIME TO START AFTER THE UPDATE AND THE LOGO MIGHT APPEAR SEVERAL TIMES"......

For the max of my terror and dis belief the phone has not started yet....even for more than 12 hours it has continued to do the same......"MY PHONE IS STILL SHOWING SONY LOGO AND THEN TEND TO RESTART AGAIN"......

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET THE PHONE WORKING AGAIN....WHAT WAS THE SERIES OF "UNEXPECTEDLY BUGS" ....WHY IS MY PHONE NOT STARTING.....PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I DISTRUST SONY FOR EVER....

1] Try a speedtest with another Phone and yours once with the same SIM card.

I'm not sure if they can get you GB back.

About the face recognition, nope. I think it doesn't have a front facing camera.

HI friend,

This is my another sony phone account which i have created recently.However i have come across few another glitches which i need to be answered and are as follows :

1] As per your suggestion i have switched on the WCDMA only mode, which has dramtically increased the downloading speed but the obstacle is it is available only few times a day and rest time again the pathetic speed continues, please give me something as i need to have speed like i used to have anyhow.

2] Today i found a striking function in my mobile "FLOATING TOUCH" which till date i was only reading on pamplets but never experienced but today when i was unlocking the screen it somehow came as a thunderbolt, when i was unlocking the screen it flashes without any touching and whola i was fascinated towards this feature, the que is it is not always there how to turn on and off this feature, and how do i effectively use it.

3]My mobile has restarted automatically two times in two days, and i am worried about it... can u please tell me why it is happening and how to tackle this as this could lead to another big problem.

Seeking your valuable advice friend.

1) There might be a network limit or you don't have a good network coverage.
Can you confirm that there's no speed limit with your carrier? In my country several carriers allow full speed when i'm within the MB limit but when i exceed them the speed gets dramatically slowed down.

2) Floating touch is enabled if you unlock the phone by hovering the finger on the screen.

3) Might be an app's fault. When does it restart? When you use it or not? If yes, on which app?
Mine tends to restart randomly with MX Player.

3. Can you try this?

a. Shut Down your phone

b. Turn back on

c. Tap and hold down the MENU key (the right one) when the SONY logo appears

-If this doesn't work, tap vigorously when SONY logo appears in the next boot...

d. Continue doing this and you will end up in Safe Mode

(you can spot the word at the Lock Screen)

At here, you can check whether it's the system app or the external source app that cause the bootloops...

If this continues, try checking whether it's the SD card or the SIM card that cause the problem...

Still continues? A repair at Service Center is the last method as you already done a software repair, right?

There is no network limit on my SIM card as this was the same SIM card which used to fly in GB.However the WCDMA only mode is providing me the satisfactory speed ya some times it behaves like hell but what can i do for it.

3]I don't know may be it is because of Facebook but i m not sure actually, One day it just got hanged when i was charging the phone and accessing the net at the same time it hangs something like the orange light continues to lit up even when i removed the charger cable from phone it was not even functioning .

Later i took my mobile to the service center where they just put that to charge because the battery was drained by that time and whola it was working again. i simply couldnt reproduce it infront of their eyes.

I still cant understand y my mobile behaves weird when it is charging it doesnt even get unlocked some times. I have asked service center they are ready to downgrade my phone to GB but they will charge 280 RS for the same.

But i decided to fully use ICS and then only take the decision not now. What wlse can i do friend to make my mobile as it was.

After upgrading to ICS i discovered that My camera is a Bit dull and the light is not proper plus it is taking great amout of time to capture a photo can u advice me something for this Friend?

A] Hot spot and tethering gives me error each time i make it ON? what is the use of them?

B] How to use NFC effectively friend that would be great if u provide me wd some knowledge over this.

Hi Trubo_xl,

I followed the way u directed and yes it got started in the safe mode wow....

but my question is friend how will i operate the SAFE mode, and how will i check what has caused RESTART.

What else can i use SAFE mode for friend??

You can downgrade to GB if you want but with a risk taken. Although you can always repair your phone via SUS if your bootloader is locked :smileywink:.

Mind that if you're on a warranty you might lose it.

As of now i am not thinking to downgrade my phone to GB before
1] I am utterly disappointed with ICS,

2] I  know that SONY is no longer providing any firmware update for ICS in SOLA........ which i do believe that they will provide....

Thanks so much Milito for the FTF link... i ll surely think abt it when i ll make my mind but as of now it seems it will take time.....

I CANT UNDERSTAND : REPAIRING MY PHONE IF MY BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED ...WHAT IS BOOTLOADER HERE...... and what if i repair my phone will my phone memory i.e... alll the messages, contacts, applications installed will get lost....????

I guess you forgot to answer A] and B] for tethering ,hotspot and NFC.... can you please provide me your valuable advice friend.....

What should i do to get my camera back on track... it is performing exceptionally slow... and i guess a light problem is there as well..........now the photos it take are dull loooking and DIM too....

Bootloader is used to flash custom ROMs...

If you don't want your phone to get into trouble, I don't suggest you to unlock as they are hardly any advantage to you and your device (copyrighted song cannot be played if you unlock bootloader)...

Repair will definitely wipe out all your data so a backup is recommended before you begin your repairing activity...

Tethering is that you can use your phone as a modem and you can use your PC (using USB) to connect to the internet using the phone's Wi-Fi or 3G...

Hotspot works  like tether but unlike tether, your phone will become a Wi-Fi router...

Devices can connect to your phone through Wi-Fi and then to Internet through phone's 3G...

These 2  options needs the Packet Data option to be enabled in order to let other device to connect to the internet through your phone...

Since this is your phone, you can enable and disable it easily to prevent users to go into internet...

For Safe Mode, still working on it...

Hello!

Unlocking the bootloader means you can flash a Custom Kernel with many more features than the Stock from Sony. Custom ROM don't always require an Unlocked Bootloader, there are ROMs that are based on the Stock Kernel.

If you repair your Phone, all of your data store on the Phone memory (not the Internal or the SD Card) will be erased. This means your SMS and Contacts will be erased.

For the hotspot and the tether does it show the "Error occured during tethering" error?

That means you must have data enabled before you enable it and successfully connected to the internet (try opening a web page). You can of course enable the data after the error without any problems :smileyhappy:.

NFC stands for Near Field Communication. There are many ways you can use your Phone's NFC such as:

• One click pair and data transfer (Android Beam).
• Paying with NFC (Google Wallet).
• Automatic tasks with a scan of a NFC tag (Xperia SmartTags or any other NFC Tag which may be or not programmable).

Safe Mode runs only the "System Apps" which they are set by the Manufacturer (Sony and/or Google).
This is usually used for debugging of an error caused by a "User App".

About the camera, may i have some pictures so i can see what's wrong with your camera?
