Xperia Sola not starting after 6.0.b.3.184 upgrade

Hi All,

I have bought xperia sola a month back i was satisfied with this product till now except few lackness like old headset not supported etc.

But two days ago my actual problem has started this device has giving me errors for "Process com sonyericsson.process.eventstream has stopped unexpectedly" there was no single application that was not giving the error including "facebook.katana" "process.conversation""process.messaging" "process.media" everything, in short the whole phone was misbehaving.

Then i read one of your discussions stating that an update may fix all such aforesaid problems.I followed all the steps which the update process mentioned .Gone through PC companion , prepared computer , installed updates on my PHONE, when PC companion alerted me that "MY PHONE IS SUCCESSFULLY UPDATED" i need now to disconnect the phone from computer and then after 5 seconds or so it will get started " THE PHONE WILL TAKE MORE TIME TO START AFTER THE UPDATE AND THE LOGO MIGHT APPEAR SEVERAL TIMES"......

For the max of my terror and dis belief the phone has not started yet....even for more than 12 hours it has continued to do the same......"MY PHONE IS STILL SHOWING SONY LOGO AND THEN TEND TO RESTART AGAIN"......

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET THE PHONE WORKING AGAIN....WHAT WAS THE SERIES OF "UNEXPECTEDLY BUGS" ....WHY IS MY PHONE NOT STARTING.....PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I DISTRUST SONY FOR EVER....

1) Power on the phone and test these things.

  • Vibration
  • Loudspeaker
  • Earspeaker
  • Bluetooth (Just turn it on)
  • WiFi (Let it search for WiFis if there are around any)
  • Camera
  • NFC
  • Every hardware key

These are the things i tested when i got my phone replaced.

2) I guess they will test the phone first to see if it's a software failure. If you're in the warranty they will replace it probably.

3) Just test the phone in front of them. Mine doesn't have issues. I tested it right away and it was ok. Hope for yours too :smileylaugh:.

Hope you are doing fine friend........

Meanwhile to wrap the story in short as u know all the above mentioned problems with my phone i had given this to the seller i purchased from , he has given me back after repaired in 10 days...stating that the SOLA mobile has failed its mother board....hence he get it serviced and changed board from sony itself.

He has n't charge a single penny to me as phone was in warranty... i ensure that...

1]IMEI number of my mobile has changed and he gave me a Bill for that stating the guarantee from the date i collected.

2]i Checked this phone personally it is working fine,
3]What else do i need to verify with this phone now my friend, as in for credibility now......
4]How can i ensure that this is not used motherboard as he is stating that it is fresh.
5]How can i ensure that Authorised Sony service center has repaired it.
6] WHat shud i do to know the second mic is working fine, as i am confused after listening do we have any software function to know its working fine.....?
7]IT is showing the following configuration....

Hello!

Sorry to hear that the motherboard has failed but i hope this one will be fine :smileyhappy:.

1) That means either the phone or the motherboard has changed... Anyway, that's good news.

4) I don't think you can. My opinion is, if it does work it doesn't really matter.
5) Didn't you hand it to the Authorised Sony Service? It should come with warranty if it does!

6) Try a call with noise such as cars or a Video capture. I don't have an App for that, sorry.

Seems pretty normal to me, try the App from the Play Store i have above and if everything goes well, take it and enjoy it :smileyhappy:. I guess you will get a warranty too, you don't have to worry about it as long as you're in the warranty.

Hi Guys, I did updated to GB (not ICS)...

...and the Function Tester works except for LED lighting...

It shows it activated the lighting but don't seem to work at all...

But using Built-in Camera and other applications that use LED, it works...

Something's wrong with FT...

Anyone had the same problem?

Lock the device when it's testing the LED. Perhaps it needs the Screen to be turned off.

Hey friend,

I have yet to test the FT onmy phone....

do i need to perform some process like turning off the phone ,lock it etc....

the above quetion of mine 5] i have not given to the authorised sony service center since i purchaesd that from a shopping site hence my seller has serviced this for me.....he has extended the warranty from the day he installed a new board in it.....

do you think that would be serviced properly....?

2] That would be extremely helpful to me if u provide me any anti theft software for my sola.....preferably FREE...... and any application that u see can help me.....

Hello again.

You might need to lock the phone once to ensure that the LED is working. Other than that i don't think you need to do something else.

Good thing that he extended the warranty. I don't if it would be serviced properly but as long you're under the warranty, you're covered :smileyhappy:.

I would recommend you this but it's a trial for 7 days i think. Anyway, i use this because i don't have a credit card to buy the Cerberus :smileysad:.

Hi Milito,

I have operated FT (advised by you) to my sola.....i have found that all the tests run perfectly except for FLASH test which was unresponsive the moment it says the flash is activated it was not.....on the contrary when i use camera/video flash works well?

1]Can u please tell me why is that happening , is my device's flash ok, as once yeterday i noticed that when i was capturing photos my flash was not working later i swithced on the FILL FLASH in place of AUTO (and restarted too) then it started working again....it gave such hustle for the first time and on the night when i was capturing a video it was a little blurred but as i started again capturing was great again./....

2]Two days ago i connected my sola to PC companion (in my PC) the PC companion was showing a system update is available -- 6.1.1.B.1.10... but my mobile (sola) doesnt show any system update in notification tab.....and my firmware which is available is : 6.0.B.3.184??? is it an old version now?


3]In case of a new firmware available for my mobile shall i update my firmware again considering the fact that last time when i updated my sola didnt start at all  :smileyconfused::smileysad:????

4]How can i get all the info which is printed on the BATTERY cover(including SI number and other details) since u know my mother board has been changed i am assuming that this info which is already there at my battery currently belongs to the old mother board ????

Probably it's a bug of the App. Doesn't matter as long as the flash works.

1) Flash doesn't light up if there's enough lighting. Fill flash forces it to be on. If you think this is a problem hand it back to the service. Test it first under dark and light conditions just to be sure :smileyhappy:.

2) It's an ICS update. You can't get it Over The Air, that's why it doesn't appear on the phone and yes, .184 is an old version now as we are on ICS right now.

3) You have to decide for the upgrade to ICS. I don't own the phone, my brother does and i have it installed it. I did an upgrade with PC Companion (NOT a repair and upgrade). I would recommend you to repair & upgrade with SUS if you decide to upgrade to ICS. It's really not that bad, might be a bit laggy but if you enable "Force GPU Rendering" under Developer Options and change to a 3rd party launcher it works ok. It depends on what you use your phone for.

4) I don't really know. What you wanna know from the battery? I gotta look my brother's phone sometime :smileyhappy:.

Anyway, gotta test the FT too on my brother's phone and let you know if it works. Until then, test the Flash like i said :smileywink:.

Friend hope you are doing well, i came here again to ask you something about my phone, some days ago when i connected my phone to PCC it showed me a new software update(6.1.B.1.10) is avaialble

when i inspected that i came to know it is ICS update hence i want to ask you since i dont know my SI number how can i conclude it is GENIUNE to my phone plus the fact that I live in india, and the phone is imported by my seller from other country probably is there any possibility to know whether my phone is eligible for the update it is showing or is it something to worry abt as the last time i updated my phone it resulted in a CRASH.....PLease Suggest me friend ?
