Z3 Compact Screen cracked

My digitiser is also screwed, can only use bottom right of my screen so basically it is useless. Sorry if this has been posted previously, but does anyone have any idea how much Sony would charge for these to get repaired? I saw someone saying they were charging around £101 to repair a screen but dont know if this included digitiser. I dropped my phone from around 30cm, it's a disgrace, my Xperia T was dropped at least50 times over the 2 years I had it and the only issue I ever had was the battery which Sony replaced for free.
I know my warranty would be intact if I got it fixed through Sony, but if it's going to cost twice the price as elsewhere it's just not worth it. I know to get a definite price I'd have to send it to them I just don't want to pay £21.80 for returning my phone if the cost is too high.

I stay in Nigeria and i love sony , i just joined this forum bc i have 2 sony xperia z3 compacts phones with broken screen, and also an xperia z with broken screenm each got broken about four to five months of using them. Am not happy , what can Sony do about it?

I have a Z3C and it has cracked from the microphone also. It looks like a spiders web and then cracked down the screen causing the top half of the phone to be unresponsive and can't unlock my screen. I had a Sony phone years ago and was very pleased with the quality. I am very unhappy with it now. And I'm also very unhappy about having to send it back to Sony with a fault that they are very aware of, with no guarantee of getting it fixed free of charge. Never ever will I be a Sony customer again. They should take these phones off the market and give a full refund to customers who have already purchased their faulty phones. Otherwise they will lose alot of customers. Another problem with the phone is the side opening that has the charger has fallen off. Bit of a joke really. Back to Apple me thinks! Watchdog are on their case, so watch this space!

It's not Sony's problem that you can't hold tight a phone in your hands. Or the compacts are too smalls for your hands ? Really dude

4 screens in under 1 year, 1st one cost £100 to replace, cracked it a second time that cost £75, 2 hour after collecting it it cracked again, that was done free of charge, bought the last screen and digitizer from replace base and fitted it myself, if it cracks again its going in the bin, the phone itself is fast and easy to use, apart from the money i've spent repairing the price of it new was a bit expensive but I like the look and feel of it, will think again about buying my nest phone which will be pretty soon, sure the screen will crack again very soon.

Sony won't admit to the poor quality of their product and they aint going to change it FOC, less stress to just BIN it and cut the losses and get a proper phone

Mine cracked by lying on the tabel at the right down corner of the front dislpay.

I send it to the sony support today.

I now use mobile phones and smartphones for about 18 years and this ist the first phone with a cracked display.:smileysick:

that's a shame and the z3c is my first and last Sony phone, I'll go back to LG

Sony should provide better screens AND should admit the problem, either giving low-cost reparations or mounting better screens during reparations

Im so frustrated, my phone screen cracked, my faultas i droped it. Was surprised, as my z and z2 fell much further an harder with no issues, wrote it off as bad luck. Had the display repaired at a almost 1/2 the price of the phone, only to have the screen crack by it self. Used the phone, no issues, placed it on my bed side table, charging received a message and found i could not share a number. Turned the phone in and off, withthe issue persisting. Took a while to see the hair line crack. I shared pictures of family bowling, just before i put the phone on charge, with display region working, only explication ihave is that the screen craced by it self. Will sony replace my display. Hope so as the phone suffered no trauma.

i have got board of my z3 compact breaking the hole time in my pocket... 1 screen replaced and 3 backs in a year( not to mention black death too!!) ! my iphone 5 lasted 2 years with nothing!

the screen is broken... i have done a back up a few days ago via pc companion. is there any way i can use the back up file for my new andriod phone?
