Xperia Z3 Compact wont turn on

Hi,   A few nights ago I went to bed and the Xperia Z3 Compact was working fine.  I get up the next morning and it wont turn on.  I tried to charge it on multiple power points and using different USB cords,  but nothing worked.   I cannot get it to charge or turn it on.

I have tried the following:

- Use the Sony Xperia Companion (but the phone is not seen by the software,  I tried different USB cords to the PC).

- I tried the 120 Second turn off method, but it made no different, nothing happened

- I tried holding the Volume Up and On buttons at the same time,  but again nothing happened.

- I have tried to charge using different USB cords and powerpoints but nothing happened.

Not sure what to do next?

Hi @EdinMel,

I am sorry to hear that.

When you tried the software repair using Xperia Companion, did you get to the step where you instructed to connect your device to the computer? If you we're not able to connect it according to the instructions I refer you to contact your Local support in order to have your device sent to an authorized service center.

Hi Sony Support,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I guess I will need to contact local support as the Companion software did not recognise the phone at all.

I understand, I am sorry to hear that.

In that case I would recommend you to contact your Local support, hopefully it can be resolved swiftly.

Hi @Napplewh

Have you tried what I suggested previously in this thread?

Hi, last weekend i had nearly exactly experience with my z3 compact.

several times, it turned off without doing anything (or possibly due to the heat - cpu/akku was not nealy warm). For two days, it started again but one evening - it did not start anymore.

tested most hints - in companion, my handy was not detected, tried to load the akku but nothing happend (no led signal on) .

I contacted the support and wanted to give it to sony. My "last try" after waiting one day to send it back - surpisingly it turned on. i made a hard reset and everything works fine... don't know what happend. akku duration is fine, no heat indicates, no errors happening and it did not turned of in the last week...

i remember i updated the firm software cause i got a update message. maybe there was a bug/error and they fixed it in my nowaday update...

That sounds peculiar @Tobias-Wo, did it suddenly start working? Do you think that it may have discharged, and then you charged it which made it boot normally?

I made the same odd experience last weekend ...

On Saturday noon after 15 minutes in the (magnetic) charger the phone went off at about 37% battery. I turned it on, but a couple of minutes later it switched off again. I only could restart the phone after waiting at least 10 minutes (it wouldn't react to the on button before), but only to see it go off again a few minutes later. The same happened when connecting to the charger or the USB port of my computer.

Sunday evening I decided to get some screenshots for a possible reset and restore and save them to my computer, the phone was connected to the PC for that via USB. Surprisingly it didn't go off this time so I let it connected till it was fully charged.

Guess what - my Z3 Compact is continuosly running since then, no more shut-off's or any other faults!

It could have been some moisture condensing inside the phone (there is no air exchange as it is waterproof) causing a short between electrical lines - it was quite hot here last weekend. During my experiments I had both covers/flaps open all the time, so the moisture could slowly have gotten out of the phone. Just a trial to explain this behaviour ...

I've updated to the lastest available version two weeks ago already, so I don't see a relation to that.

If i would have been discharged, why it did not charged for several days and did not start again?

After waiting two days (doing nothing) the handy started normally and the akku level was about 40%
