Microphone issue Xperia Z1

Hi!

I recently bought 6 Xperia Z1 to the company and now we can´t hear eachother anymore.
There´s constant brakes and after a minute or two the voice disappears completly and there´s
nothing to do but to end the call.

What to do?

Best regards/ Christine

Make sure the phones are running on the latest version of the software. You can do that by checking the Update Center application in the phone.

Also make sure that you're using new SIM cards (factory made micro SIM's, not cutted).

I have been struggling with exactly the same problem. Everything updated, factory SIM. Still people kept complaining about not being able to hear what I said. The mic seems to work alright for audio recording, so probably not a hardware issue. I found a workaround, however: turn off the "Microphone noise suppression" option in call settings. This seems to improve the situation. Guess you will have to work a little on that one.

Same problem here and the advice I got from Sony was is the microphone covered?!!! Not helpful I can't make calls using hands free. Pointless

Recently purchased the Z1, when making a voice call on Loudspeaker mode the receiver gets massive feedback through their end so bad it makes your ears "bleed". It was a problem with all the phones in the store. It happened when receiving or making the phone calls from xperia to xperia or xperia to other phones in Loudspeaker mode.  Is it a mic sensitivity problem or location of the mic, or is there an app or update to adjust/rectify this issue.

Same issues, Sony has had my xperia z1 since november 20th, they were sitting on it at the repair centre for 23 days without even realizing they had it until i called in, now they've been waiting on parts, tell me that i'm not to expect it until well after new years. Typical Sony, release their hardware before it's ready to beat the holiday rush. After being constantly disappointed with nearly everything they sell from playstation to cellphones, I believe this will be my last purchase. Refunds?? Didn't think so. Happy holidays.

Update: I contacted one of the employees at the rogers store I dropped my Z1 off at around January 3rd and informed him of my issues getting my phone back, (Sony repair Centre had it since November 20th) at first it wasnt listed in their system, then parts kept going on backorder. The rogers guy contacted Sony on my behalf and convinced them to get me a brand new Xperia Z1, not the colour I wanted but better than the loaner phone, and forfeited my screen protector in doing so. No problem, only issue I'm having is that the brand new phone they sent me has the exact same issue as the one I sent in, can't make a hands free call. Back to square one.

Try turning off all the audio enhancement software that Sony puts on the phone. I found they make things worse rather than better
