Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion, however, I don't think forcing us as users to get apps as workarounds should be your solution. It is very disappointing, as many other users mentioned. There is no use in disabling notifications all at once. Please fix this BUG as soon as possible, it has been 4 weeks.
Cheers,
Angel (A former very satisfied SONY costumer)

Hi Jefry,
I don't know why, but it worked like a charm. If you remove the email service from Device Administrators and then reinstall it, even if you then add the service to the Device Administrator list again, it shows the little icons and the big white notifications.
Thanks
Hi,
Have you tried removing the active-sync email account and reinstalling it? It worked for me.
Cheers
Removing and re-adding the account only appears to work in the 726 build.
Unbelievable.... being that you boast your business apps for this product, an expedient response would be appropriate.
Come on Sony.... This really can't be they way you wish to service owners of you premium product.
You are better than this....
Just as other Xperia owners have noticed after their phone has been updated to Lollipop versions, the Z1 Compact now has the same "issue/feature" where notifications are no longer showing while locked, if you're using an ActiveSync Account with specific policies.
While other vendors have chosen to show notifications, but not any access to data, as was the case with KitKat, the current Sony software hides everything. This forces users to turn on the Z1, then swipe, then enter a PinCode before finding out if there actually is a notification or not. This is a BAD BAD user experience.
It seems the Z3 users are receiving a software update in their 2nd lollipop release that fixes this issue. Check the Z3 forums for similar subject titles to see what's going on there.
Hopefully. Z1 owners will get the update soon as well.
So if there are other threads that you have read with the same issue why create a new thread?
The 726 build just rolled out where I live (Canada) and it indeed does fix the problem. There is the slight inconvenience of having to remove and re-add the activesync account, but notifications work afterwards.
Not sure why the Sony rep has gone silent on this issue, but it seems like the solution is to wait for your carrier to roll out the new version. I had used Echo Notifications and Snaplock as the stopgap and the google version seems quite primitive compared to them, but at least now I don’t need to do 3 swipes to unlock and all the functionality works.
Thanks Sony for addressing the issue. If communication was improved you would have less angry customers though.
Customers are only angry because they don't understand how things work - I'm not Sony but we have tried to explain things but this falls on deaf ears
