Lollipop not showing notifications on lock screen

After upgrading to Lollipop, notifications does not show on the lock screen at all. I use pin-code as security, notifications is set to "Show all notification content". Something I'm missing here?

Signed up just to comment on this topic - unsure why Sony is brushing it off as insignificant because this is a near critical bug for those who are mandated to use ActiveSync.

Since it works under 726 and not under 690 - there is obviously a flaw with one of the versions. Which one is "working as intended" is up for debate (to only Sony, as every other manufacturer has notifications working).

I have tried 5 lockscreens as a temporary solution, but it is an imperfect one at best. The best case is that you have 3 screens to go through before you can actually use your phone (highly annoying), and that's not mentioning the various glitches that they have with lollipop.

Can you provide some clarity on if everyone will eventually get 726? I am close to wiping my phone so I get the stock android version back.

I recently updated my Xperia Z3 (D6603/Unlocked/Not rooted) to Lolipop and I have the same problem.

I have my work exchange email configured via the default email app that came with Sony and it was not allowing any lock screen notifications.

I was able to fix this problem by installing the latest google exchange services (Download link - http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/exchange-services/).

I used the version 6.5-1729047

You would have to download the package manually and copy to your phone and then install it (Ensure that your security settings "Unknown sources" is turned ON).

After that I configured my work exchange email account in my Gmail app itself. After that the lock screen notifications started working Slightly_smiling_Face

Please try the same and let me know if it works for you guys Slightly_smiling_Face

@Alnavidh: Are notifications for other apps working as well or just the gmail notifications?

Beside not seeing if I have received mails the biggest issue for me is that I cannot see if anyone called me or texted me something not even in the status bar as I could in Android 4.x.

Yes. Everything works for me now. I am getting notifications from all my apps Slightly_smiling_Face

@Alnavidh That is great! Perhaps you should create a new thread and post this as a solution, at least if others find it is working.

I must say, I am so happy using a 3rd party app (touchdown - pin lock is enforced in app instead of in phone) that I won't bother getting it fixed.

By the way, you should fix the link in your post: the ). has become part of the address so the link doesn't work.

Unfortunately the workaround from @Alnavidh is not working on my phone. Which Android version do you use? Have you changed any notification settings?

It is not working for me neither.

Hi,

As with most, if not all of the users posting on this thread I am totally disgusted with the way in which Lollipop now works on my Z3, which I believe to be down to how SONY supports Lollipop.

Not having visible notifications on my lock screen is absolutely rubbish. I consider being able to see a notification on my locked screen a fundamentally basic phone operation, prior to the update I was able to configure my device to show nothing but the app logo in the corner and I was even able to assign a relevant coloured light notification which corresponded with whatever had come through (green for WhatsApp......blue for FB/Twitter.........white for SMS..........yellow for Snapchat) meaning I didn't even have to wake the phone to know what I had.

Unless I am missing something here, the above functionality does not work anymore whereas I'm aware that it does on other devices, I'm sat next to a HTC user who's mocking my Z3 which up until a few hours I considered (as did he) the waterproof beast of the smartphone world with a battery that just wouldn’t quit.

I have noticed various work arounds but In all honesty, I don't want a work around. I want a simple logo and little light to show me the way without scrolling through different locked screens.

My friends at SONY please tell if there are plans to resolve this issue for me and all others not liking the taste of this Lollipop.

But………tell me this is now by design functionality and I shall begrudgingly try out a workaround and once my contract is over, I shall pick your biggest rival (that allows me to set-up notifications in the way I'd like)  and join them.

Thank you.

I'm currently running version 690, and rumor has it that the next version (726) will fix it.

Waiting and checking for update every day...

Is there an official statement somewhere about the "redesign" or bugfix related to notification?

I'm really tired of having to unlock the phone just to check if someone has called me...

When will 726 be rolled out to the different countries in Europe?

Lollipop arrived on my EU z3 today.

Was gutted to see lock screen notifications didn't work.

However once I removed my active-sync account and recreated it all appears to be working now.

My build is 726
