Hi Sony,
Last reply from forum-support on this issue was on 2015-03-19 and we have been affected with this bug for close to 3 weeks now.
I'm using my phone for work, and it's really annoying not to have notification working!
Can you please give a status related to this issue?
This is how it's designed to work in the new software but i've forwarded your feedback to our development. But i'm afraid i can't say when or if this will be changed.
Hi Richard,
Notification works if you don't use ActiveSync (corp. email)...but that makes the phone not the tool that it is designed to be for a lot of us.
On why I consider this to be a *bug*:
* All the options for setting the notification exists if I use ActiveSync
* I get no warning or error-message when I try to set up notifications, not even information that notifications will not work.
If it's *designed* with no support for notifications when a feature like ActiveSync is active:
* The user should be warned or informed that notifications are not awailable in combination with feature X.
* The notification options should be not enabled.
Either you should disable the settings or you should make it work. I vote for the later...make notifications work as intended!
It's a smartphone...or is it..?
Thank you Richard for your reply to our problem here.
As many people stated, every other phone that uses lollipop works. They do show notifications.
However you state that this is how Android is supposed to work. That leaves two options, either has every other manufacturer missunderstood the guidelines for implementing lollipop notification or has Sony missunderstood. Im guessing the later.
And as we have so many times mentioned, there are settings to prevent notifications from showing. However Sony just ignore them and show nothing.
I do not beleve that this is how Android is designed to work. Because if it was there should be a warning or a setting.
Please redirect me to a document that clearly states that this is how it is designed to work, I do not take your word for it.

I thought my installation is broken until I found this thread.
Why should this be designed like that?
As many others said, if you use the phone for business this is an unusable solution.
Active Sync OR notifications, seriously?
Why is this implemented just on sony phones?
According to Rickard this phone is now designed to not work properly as a business phone because using activesync dramatically reduce the usability of the phone. If Sony still thinks this idea they have to inform their business customers that the phone will be less usable if the upgrade to lollipop. They should also provide a downgrade option for people who already have upgraded to lollipop

Hello,
I just updated to lollipop on Xperia Z3 Compact on ATT in US. I was looking forward to notifications popping up on lock screen, ie., text messages, email, etc., but nothing occurs except sound notification without any visual notifications on lock screen.
I have checked settings > sound and notification > and made sure when device is locked, "show all notification content"
Not sure what else I can do to get notifications to pop up or are they blocked by some other app?

Do you use activesync to connect to an Exchange server? If you do, some server security policies can inhibit notifications on the lock screen.
Hmm, that may be the case. Is there a way to disable it? I guess the only way would be to delete the email account that utilizes the Exchange server but I need that email for work purposes. Is there a work around?
Hi,
This has been discussed in another thread:

If I'm not mistaken, another user said that Mailwise should not interfere with the notifications, perhaps you can check out that application.
