Echo issues during phone call

The receivers always hear an echo from my phone, and the soud quality is bad.

I tried to change all the sound settings available, nothing works.

Anyone had same issue already ?

I am also having all the same issues, I've also noticed that if I move the handset when it's up against my face it seems to end the call..! Also I'm getting Internet and wi-fi drop out momentarily and playback issues when watching Facebook video clips

I spent months agonising over which brand to go for Samsung or sony and having come from a Samsung galaxy s2 which ran faultlessly for 2 years and to be honest at the moment is outdoing this z2.. I'm not impressed wish I'd stuck with Samsung and the s5.. Come on sony sort it out..!

I have an Xperia Z2 and i had the same call quality issues.
When i made or received a call, the other part listened to my voice with cuts and muffled.
Also when those cuts werent happening, i could hear hissing and connection noises.

This problem is normally caused by bad reception or interference, but i had full or almost full signal.

So after several tests i found some interesting things...

I decided to remove my official Sony book cover, and the the call's sound became clear with any cuts or hissing!

Now altought my calls arent perfect, they are much much better.
Meanwhile i replaced that book cover with a gel one and my calls are almost perfect.

However i still hear some noise but i believe this problem will be solved in an update that my phone hasn't received yet.

So i advise to do the following:

- Try the Diagnostic application that comes with the phone, and test your microfone with and without headphones (not a headset).

- Remove any cover you have and try to make a call in a place you have good reception. Listen to the sound quality.

- Connect a headset to your phone and make a call.

- Make another call with a headset but this time leave your phone on top of a table and don't touch it during the call.

- Also try to change the hand that picks tyour phone. Somehow i could hear slight change in voice quality when i change the phone from my right to left side.

I still have the same firmware version that has came with the phone. There is a newer one that has a "Enhanced in-call audio with fine tuned noise cancellation".

I appreciate that someone with the same problems make these tests and share with us the results.

Thank you.

I only have a tpu soft cover but are still annoyed over the hissing and echo + the caller in the other end notice clear cuts and sporadic noise in the sound.

I noticed that when I turn the volume up the hissing close to dissappear but turning on and of the noise cancelation doesn't affect the hissing noise much if anything the hissing is more distinguished when the noise cancellation is on!!!

Sony I want my money back!!

Hi all,

I found something today regarding the echo issue. I got my replacement Z2. Made test calls, and it was ok, no echo on the other side. I did a restore from my previous backup and after that the echo issue came back. I did a factory reset, installed all the applications except one, viber. And now, there is no echo issue at all. I hope this can help a bit.
