I'm having the exact same problem. My Xperia Z2 battery doesn't even last a full day now. The first Lollipop update screwed my battery, now this one is worse.
This is the first time I've ever had a Sony phone. I bought my Z2 in November 2014 and I was very happy with it – particularly the battery life, which lasted just over 2 days. But this Lollipop fiasco has ruined the battery life and I seriously doubt I'll ever buy a Sony phone again. I get that this is Google's fault, but both companies are complicit in ignoring the problem. When people pay for smartphones, they don't expect an OS update to tank key features that attracted them in the first place.

Your issue it's different, try this
settings > apps > all > play store and all google services/apps > clear data > uninstall updates > restart the phone > make sure to disable auto update apps and auto backup photos
@Uliwooly
Those screenshots were for Lollipop 5.0.
fair enough, post the same screenshots running 5.1.1 after reinstalling it with PCC.
Charge your phone 100% > use it as you normally would > do NOT charge it > let it drain > once it reaches 10% > do the following:
Settings > power management > battery
1 screenshot of the list
2 tap on the graph > take a screenshot
3 back > on the list > tap on the top 5 items on the list > take a screenshot of each one
Post them all here
Cool, thanks. I'll try that now.
I appreciate you helping, so the following comment is directed at Sony rather than you. But it's getting really annoying that Lollipop requires all these changes to settings and reinstalls just to be halfway functional. An operating system should not compromise a phone in this way. I'm deeply disappointed in Sony and Google over this fiasco – especially since no one seems to be coming out and saying that, yes, battery life has been compromised. Almost every handset is suffering battery life issues since Lollipop.
I bought the Z2 specifically for its battery life versus the rest of the market.
Hi @uliwooly! I'm also having the issue that Android OS is using a HUGE amount of battery, I've also noticed that since Android OS started using so much battery, my phone discharges faster overnight and my battery is draining slightly faster.. I have some screenshots if that will help. P.S. current OS 5.1.1
