hi there
I have a sz61mn/b and can't activate the speed mode. If I shutdown, switch on speed and boot, the light will stay on stamina.
I'm not using the shipped windows vista, but this should be handled by the bios shouldn't it ? (btw, this bios is a shame, you can't configure anything !!! Does sony takes us for dummies ?)
Thanks for your answers
No this will be handled by the Vaio Notebook Utilities - nothing to do with the BIOS.
Have you reinstalled the Original Vaio Utilities for your model?
Are you using Vista or XP?
No, I'm using linux...
Why did they didn't put that in the bios ? It would expose the intel card or the nvidia card depending on the switch...
Sony makes for sure good hardware, but they're pure crap at software 🙂
Thanks for the answer though
For Linux have a look here: -

Under the Stamina vs. Speed Mode it gives a script to switch modes using different xorg.conf files.
