hey, ok i got all my programs running etc reinstalled vista formated my hard-drive and everything is working but how do i run the camera and like record or take a still picture?.....

Is the Vaio camera utility installed on your vaio AR21S..?

ive downloaded the uttility but the system cant find the driver where can i download the driver from?

So does anyone know where i can download it from ive tried the one in sony's download centre but it didnt work can someone link me to where i can find the driver for it?

Check exactly what you have installed and what version you have. You will only make things worse by 'trying' things out! The Vista Express Upgrade should have installed all drivers and utilities you need - but they may need updating. Have you run Vaio Update?

1. Check in Device Manager -> Imaging Devices do you have a camera installed and what is it called in Device Manager.
2. Check in C:\Program Files\Sony\ do you have BOTH Vaio Camera Utility AND Vaio Camera Capture Utility installed. If so what Versions of each.

camera utlity is there but vaio camera capture is not there....

in device manager there is no list which show imaging device but tehre is other devices stating an unknown device

You need to install the camera by installing the VGP-VCC2 camera driver (attached below)

You need the VAIO Camera Capture Utility 2.2.01.04100 - have a look at the AR31S downloads. If it won't install because it is an update, you will need to download the original utilities for the AR31S and install it from there.

You need to install the camera by installing the VGP-VCC2 camera driver. This is your existing XP Driver which works with Vista and XP. You should find it in your C:\ Drivers folder or you can download it as part of the AR21S Original Driver Download from HERE: -

thanks alot....everything is installed but everytime i run the vaio camera capture utility all i get is a blue screen even after i choose the camera from the options...it says no input however i just tested out the camera on msn(wlm) and it worked
