Cant Change My Desktop Picture

Hi All
I cant change the picture on my desk top anymore, the scroll bars wont scroll and I cant click on any pictures to select one

Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone know how to correct it?

Have you run a anti spyware and Antivirus scan..?

Do you have XP or Vista?

If xp you could try this regedit from kellys-korner see Allow Wallpaper/Background Changes line no.142 on the right.

You can backup your registry first..

Hi Iam using XP and have run spyware doctor and norton virus scan and everything is coming up clean so I will try what you suggest, thank you!

You could also try using something like Adaware or Spybot S&D , both of which are free, to check for malware..

Are you able to change the desktop picture now..?

No, no change. Except I went onto sony wallpapers and 'set to background' on one of the pix and the graphics are coming up badly, so am actually worse off as cant change it...argh!!!!!!!!!

Try right-clicking another picture that is stored on your computer then clicking Set as Desktop Background..

Does this allow you to change your desktop background..

Tried that and nope, it dont work either !

Have you installed any programs since you last changed your desktop picture, if so, can you remember what they were..?
