my xperia sola battery lasts for only 18hrs with minimum or no use.i have noticed in battery usage info that android os drains around 30-50% battery.and after doing some research on xda i came to know that this is a software issue which was also present in xperia s.is there going to be a firmware update for the xperia sola to reslove this issue?.

updated phone to 6.0.b.3.162 with a factory reset.i will format my sd card and see if there is any change in the battery life
varunvaidya, tell me the result. I still can't update myself. Have you tried taking off the SD for a while, see if that improves battery as ti did for me ?
Oh ! my SD still have an ext-sd partion from using a2SD on the bladeS.
That migh not be sush a good idea. I'll definitifly try the format.
Hello. I've noticed that the sim card can cause extreme battery drain. Try leaving the phone on airplane mode overnight but without a sim card installed. I used a micro-sim card with the adaptor provided (had the older sim) and the phone dropped 8% in 8hours with usage whereas before it would drop 3% per hour on standby! Try to exchange your simcard, there might be an issue with it...
For a while i though the SD was the cause. Now i'm afraid it's the phone reacting wrong to ANY sd card.
I'll try taking off the sim again, especialy since my provider's sim are known to cause this. Already tried it without effect mind you.
Ok, new update. I've used my first provider's (the one i had battery drain originally) micro-sim and still suffered the battery drain. Using another provider's microsim fixes this. However, the first provider's 2G network works on GPRS and 3G/WCDMA on UMTS. The second provider's (without battery drain) works on Edge on 2G and HSPA on 3G/WCDMA. So it comes down to this for me:
As reported by the phone itself:
Cytamobile-Vodafone (Classic or MicroSim) 2G:GPRS and WCDMA:UMTS - Major Battery Drain, around 3-5% per hour when idle and on Standby.
MTN (MicroSim) 2G:Edge and WCDMA:HSPA - Normal battery usage, 1% drop for 8 hours standby.
Signal was the same for both providers, tested in two locations.
So Im guessing this is most likely a software issue since its the first phone I encountered with this weird behavior...
1% drop for 8 hours standby.
Umf !
I get about 10 % for 8h with the SD on. And 4% without;
I'm wondering if the sim card isn't drainning as well as the SD. (My providers's sim are know for that kind of thing.)
I get about 3-4% / 8h standby with an Orange SIM and Kingston 8GB Class10 mSD . One night it measured even less. Was 100% charged ( with no charging simbol) at 10pm and the next day at 7am it was 99% .
Well, only lost 3% during the night. Looks like changing the sim did someting, though it's not as visible as changing the sd card.
i also using Xperia sola,i have no issues like battery back up and not another issues...10 hours backup and 25% left after playing Games and enjoying internet.
and normal use 48% left after 26 hours...enough battery life...
