My friends, i can see you have many problems with the batery life. I don't know if any of you has noticed this, but when the phone is charging and it reaches 100%, you shouldn't remove the charger. The phone is still charging even after reaching 100%,sometimes for half an hour. If you want to see when the phone is fully charged, go to Settings-About phone-Phone status. In the first field you can find if the phone is or is not fully charged. Try this and let's see what happens. I hope i can help some of you.

I tried that only 2 times, but yes it made a difference
one more thing, while charging, my mobile really gets hot, and it's hard to hold it then
so is that a sign that probably battery needs to be replaced?
My Android and JB version is 4.0.4. Is there a new one now?
No,the battery heats when the phone is used heavily, also while charging and using the phone.
It is not possible for you to have JB on 4.0.4,the JB on Xperia P is 4.1.2.
I have(with my girfriend) 3 phones xperia p,u,s , i have update them from gb until jb. The battery drain depends always from that it's running(apps ) in the phone.
Ics or Jb the consume it's the same, my opinion.
Use static wallpaper.
Turn off google now.
Turn off location in facebook.
Turn off gps when not need.
Check syncronization is off when not need.
Use 2g network when it's possible.
Turn off google+ if not need.
Turn off all timescape if not need.
...
Use stamina mode or extended standby mode, it can help you if you don't know how can do it manually.
The main battery drain is from display(i love that xperia p)
One advice use these app from google play
brightness level curverfish (setting display)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.curvefish.widgets.brightnesslevel&hl=en
switch network type 2g / 3g (setting gsm/umts-hsdpa)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.softxperience.android.switchnetworktype&hl=en
If you have problem with quick discharge battery check this simple article.
Use also the original charger.
I don't know if this will be of much help, but as an observation, sometimes any new update (apps, etc) can affect the battery temporarily. It is better to reboot the phone occasionally (just like we need to do for our PCs for some of the updates).
Of course, rebooting should be done as on a schedule(once every 2-3 days).Maybe this information I gave for ICS can still work on JB.
if the coverage of 3g is not good will effect the battery level?
my xp battery suddently drop from 40 percent to 0 percent then shut down automatically. this occur 3 times already in the same place when i open 3g. if normal use without 3g then is ok. what should i do? i manage to send my phone to sony services centre to claim warrainty, but i have no phone to use after my phone goes waranty. really disappointed to have a build in battery phone.
