My friends, i can see you have many problems with the batery life. I don't know if any of you has noticed this, but when the phone is charging and it reaches 100%, you shouldn't remove the charger. The phone is still charging even after reaching 100%,sometimes for half an hour. If you want to see when the phone is fully charged, go to Settings-About phone-Phone status. In the first field you can find if the phone is or is not fully charged. Try this and let's see what happens. I hope i can help some of you.

hey i did monitor the battery status n shut off my charging after it was FULL but still my baterry draining like anything ... should i repair it by pc companinon... is it safe to do it... i bought xperia P with ICS pre install.
I'm ok to check the status of charging from the phone status eventhough its a round about, But the point is it takes more than 2 hrs to reach 100%. Dont think this is normal is what i'm trying to tell. Any comments from other experts?
Other viewers please let us all know how many hours it takes to reach 100% after checking in phone status.
Hey guyz, My battery use to last only for about 10 hrs everyday...evn when the phone ws idle my battery use to drain for some reason... And my Android OS use to suck the maximum battery...so instead of doin all the abov stuff wat i did was i deleted most of my apps like news, yahoomail etc to see if it helped...n today its been 9 hrs n i still got more than 50% of battery with moderate use and android OS has gone down to 7%... Just try n delete some apps which are connected to the internet always n see if it helps and thn slowly start downloadin those apps 1 by 1 n see which app ws acting up whn the phone ws on stand by...Cheers!
Jayesh, 10hrs a day is with or without Data traffic enabled? From what I understand is that you have enabled data traffic always, in that case 10hrs of battery backup should be fine.
Also try to remove the Weather Widget from the main screen, This has helped most of the Xperia P users and has given a good battery backup. It worked for me, However with all these tips my battery last for 26 hrs with only 4-5 calls (Avg 5mins per call) and mostly idle for the remaining time.
FYI I have followed all the recommendations in this forum.
i am glad to hear that this forum has helped you.you should know that the phone charges slower when used while charging, that's why sometimes it gets faster fully charged or slower.
I normally dont use the phone while charging, But would still like to hear from other Xperia P users to see how long it takes to get 100% charge, For me it takes more than 2 hrs !!
Hey...Yea data traffic is on always n i use to get 10 hrs of battery backup with moderate use...The prob was battry use to drain evn whn the phone ws on standby...so i deleted all the apps and now atleast the battery doesnt drain whn the phone is idle..bt whnever i use my 3G to surf n stuff it drains like anythin lol...i knw 1305 mAh is not so good bt still...n today m seeing my android OS has gone up to 16% in the morn...bt the battery usage is same like yest...wat is android OS? n ive heard it shld be within 6-8% can anytell me wat does it do exactly?
the android os is practically the phone working and also integrated apps working.the os drain percent shouldn't be over 10%.if os drains too much, there is a chance of recovering if repairing the software.
hey hi, i m planning to repair my phone through the pc campaninon. can any one please tell if it does contain any risk or anything i should be carefull for. and what all data will be lost with it ( msgs, whatsaap msgs or anyother msger, contacts and picture. etc?)
please tell me if there is any other way i can save battery life. i mean buying a smart fone means using it to the fullest n swtiching most of its feature is like redundant to the fact its a smart phone.
To save battery life:
1. Enable extended standby.
2. Remove/disable any antivirus and taskkillers.
3. Remove the weather widget of your homescreen.
4. Turn brightness down.
5. Charge your phone untill it isn't charging anymore. (100% is not always 100%)
6. If android OS or any other process is using too much battery juice: try a factory reset
Factory reset:
I just lost me apps and their settings, but i recovered them with the backup app.
First make a backup of the apps with the factory backup app.
Optionaly: backup the virtual sdcard of the phone.
Repair the phone with PCC.
restore Whatsapp, etc...
