Device memory full in xperia L

Hi.

I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..

I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173

Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...

Now I have some questions for Sony:

1. Do you recognize this problem?

2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?

3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?

Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31

Well, well, well!!! Just left my phone alone for about 30 minutes, and found another file in data/core. Tried to paste some of it, but its full of rubbish that I can't post. Basically the file is full of "com.spotify.mobile native thread exited without (garbled symbols)"
Seems like Spotify is the issue! Over to someone cleverer than me to work out what all the junk means!
Looks like it's either just crashing and creating a file, or not exiting properly...

I'll start saving these files, as the Spotify one might be a one off, other apps may cause this problem as well...

I think I have cracked this as far as Spotify is concerned.  Having now had 3 of these files created, all talk about Spotify.  If I open and use Spotify, then close the application I don't get a core dump file.  If I open and use Spotify, pause it/unplug headphones and ignore it for around 30 minutes, a Core Dump file appears!

Having had a look at the files (which are on the most completley illegible) one talks about data being disabled, so I'm wondering if when Stamina mode is kicking in and disabling the mobile data, it's causing Spotify to throw it's toys out the pram so to speak...  The other files say "Native thread exited without (garbage)", Googling that sentence brings up lots of results for "Native thread exited without detaching", I have no idea what that means though, as this is already too technical!  Sony Dev's will know though, as will Spotify Dev's  (has anyone ever tried contacting Spotify?  They are totally useless!)

I am still not convinced that this issue is Spotify's problem, as not everyone on here uses Spotify.  It is true that Spotify is a major contributor as far as I can make out, but I still think that Sony has a massive part to play in the way these core dumps are being handled.  I have used Spotify on countless mobile devices since it launched and I've never had an issue like this with it.  If however Sony can't work this out themselves, then perhaps they should be talking to the Dev's at Spotify to try and work something out.

There must be someone on here who is a bit more knowladgeable about these Core Dumps (I've only had a crash course on Google!) and can explain this better!

I've stuck more screenshots of this, including the contents of the files I am talking about.  You can find the link on my profile.

That's some really insightful research you've done on Spotify's behaviour proterra. Good work. Let's hope someone is able to join up the dots here fairly soon.

Its easy for me to do these tests, as I can very quickly fix my phone by deleting these files contained in data/core, but can anyone else rooted or not confirm my findings, at least with the Spotify app?

Proterra, I'm not root and I can not see data / core, but I can confirm that the memory leak grows faster when Spotify is instales.

I'll try what you say about close Spotify when you disconnect the headphones. Is it only remové it from the list of applications running (square button) or force stop the app?

I m Facing the Same Problem in my Xperia L, bought few days back. I have used android phones with very less Device Memory and they work fine because all apps can Use SD memory but in this device its not working and the problem is not with Apps as Apps in my Phone using 300 MB of memory and still it is showing 50 MB free in device Memory.

Sony should rectify this BUG soon or else People will Stop to buy Sony Phones as I m not going to buy another Sony again, Its pathetic that Customers facing this problem all around the world and they are not reacting  or answering for solutions.

This behavior can not be accepted by such a Brand Sony, no body will Believe them now.

Sony..........Don't Believe instead of Make Believe
