Hi.
I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..
I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173
Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...
Now I have some questions for Sony:
1. Do you recognize this problem?
2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?
3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?
Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31
Hi, i bought it last week, It is my first smart phone, but unfortunately I have recieved this warning. I live in Iran.
what can I do?
Hi maryzamb79,
next time please use english, though i translate 1st your whole word
only some applications that can moved into internal memory, no app that can be moved to SD card.
basiclly SD only for Music, photos, document or other files.
your concern
------ in english - using google
Hello! It is 4 months since I bought this phone I have the sd card but I always have problems with memory. I can not do application updates and I do not move things on sd .. I find myself just a picture. Everything I move it to the internal memory. Mah!
Who knows how to help me? thanks
Hi Swaminathan,
no probs, glad to help cheerssss :smileysmileythumbsup:
Pfff, Just I´ve bought this mobile one week ago, my mobile is non vinculated to any company, I bought it free, to be used with any operator and as I see my mobile memory is decreasing, only left 175MB and yesterday I had 190. I see i will have to do my factory reset soon,. Just I hope that this solution by Feri-Reza will work while Sony is looking for the solution...because, Sony is looking for the solution really? Or where is the japanese honor?
Hi feri-reza I´ve do your steps but doing enable-disable-enable i still can reproduce music and chech videos and fotos with the app.
Hi!
I have had this same problem and have done a factory reset once. I now had the same problem again so I tried the solution on page 17. Unfortunately for me, it didn't work. It only cleared a little bit of my device memory 😞
I am going to reset it again now though, then disable the walkman app and the Timescape widget (that I think someone called "pictures and videos"), I hadn't thought about till now that they may generate cached data without actually being in use, but of course they do. I am also going to install the new update, maybe that will help.
However, I am also glad to report that I have had a long discussion with Sony Mobile over facebook, and the guy answering today said he would pass on my post to their tech team. I said in it that it is obviously a problem with the phone not clearing cached data, since I have about 8 small apps installed on mine, I am certain that the pictures save to my SD-card (and also the gallery thumbnails due to this!), yada yada yada. So hopefully they'll understand this is a serious issue and actually fix it 🙂
I have been facing the same problem for 2 months, and im following this thread on daily basis. I did factory reset and disabled media storage in apps. Disabled walkman also. Now using Rocket player instead of walkman and quick pic instead of album. Its working fine now. Expecting a permanent solution from sony soon.
