Since I have updated to Marshmallow last night, my Z5 no longer shows the number of notifications I have on each app 😞 Anyone else have this problem? Notifications still appear in the notifications bar but not on the apps themselves (the little number).

Also did the latest update and still no notification badge counter on apps such as whstspp 😞

Although i totally agree with all the users who have posted regarding this issue......when i purchased my Z5 a few months back & discovered these issues i installed Nova Launcher Prime (have always used this launcher) , Light Flow to change the notification light to different colours for various notifications & TeslaUnread to give me the notification badges....now i do realise that not everyone likes to 'fiddle' around with the Android OS & agree that a simple thing like 'badges' should be working but this is the great customisation ability of Android, so until Sony or whichever App company comes up with a solution spend 30 minutes exploring how different Apps can transforrm your phone into what you want it to look/feel/perform the way you want it to :smileysmileywink:

@dandy63 Are u able to get the badges from teslaunread work with the stock sony email app? I can't. But Gmail is acting properly. Moreover, about the SMS badges with teslaunread, it's just an extraction from the notification, which means that once you clear the notification(s) the unread SMS count reset to 0, which - for me - make theses badges pretty useless. I tried this with stock Messaging sony app, textra and various others.

@tregate i dont use the stock Sony email App but Yahoo......all i can add is that the badge notifications show if i dont read/open the message.....but once open/read they go away, works perfectly fine for what i use which is Yahoo Mail, WhatsApp, Text Messages & Gmail...also shows with mised calls

@dandy63 Yeah I'm using Gmail now and WhatsApp etc which work well, as missed calls, the only problem remaining is for text messages, the badge disappears when I clear the notification

I think Sony phones have many bugs......so people have to think alot before buying these phone

Hello there,

My name is Niall & I'm new to the forum.

I purchased a z5 compact today and have noticed that when I receive a message in whatsapp/viber/gmail etc..the message does not show up as received on the app icon. For example, if i receive 1 whatsapp message, the number 1 should flash up and stay on the whatsapp icon. This is not happening. I would appreciate if anybody had a solution to this problem.
