Z3 Compact Screen cracked

My digitiser is also screwed, can only use bottom right of my screen so basically it is useless. Sorry if this has been posted previously, but does anyone have any idea how much Sony would charge for these to get repaired? I saw someone saying they were charging around £101 to repair a screen but dont know if this included digitiser. I dropped my phone from around 30cm, it's a disgrace, my Xperia T was dropped at least50 times over the 2 years I had it and the only issue I ever had was the battery which Sony replaced for free.
I know my warranty would be intact if I got it fixed through Sony, but if it's going to cost twice the price as elsewhere it's just not worth it. I know to get a definite price I'd have to send it to them I just don't want to pay £21.80 for returning my phone if the cost is too high.
Regards.

Had the same thing happen to my Z3. Repair quote from Sony of £334! There is clearly a design fault with these phones which Sony is exploiting through extortionate repair costs for it's own benefit. I dropped my old iPhone 4 on hard floors a number of times with no noticable damage to the screen.

As a result of this experience, I will never buy a Sony phone again.

£180 to get mine fixed, **bleep** joke this phone is, Sony you need to sort out your customer services or you are going to lose a lot of customers that's for sure.

same thing has happened here... gutted... A hairline crack has appeared, my phone has never been dropped or bumped- happened to notice phone was hot after playing a game, put it down and on picking it back up a few minutes later the top 3rd of screen is unresponsive and hairline crack has appeared running diagonally across towards top right corner... gutted, phone less than 2 weeks old - really disappointing for a brand like sony.. sending off tomorrow to

Same for me! In front screen of my Sony Xperia Z3 Comapct is a single crack  from the power button right to the top of the screen. It appeart while I had it just in my pocket without any physical influence (no drop, no other things in the pocket, no bending). Now there are some spots in the top of the screen that does not recognize any touches.

@karton Sorry to hear this but you would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

I 'have the same problem. To be honest i don't think that this is a customers fault, because it happened in my trousers pocket on the backside. I noticed, but didn't think that this is would have an effect on the front side - but it had.

As i read now many reports on that problem here, i am sure its an defect by design. It wasn't designed as stable as a phone should be. I hever experienced such thing with a samsung phone.

No i will let them repair, pay and resell the phone - never again sony. I need to warn anybody. It's a shame, because this phone is water resistent, has a nice display and the phone-time is very long. But the material is rubbish. But they are big enought to ignore and i have no time for an lawyer.

The only thing one can do ist post that at newspapers etc, so that the people don't buy such an crap.

I too have this issue  - quoted £108 . Not clean crack like most here , but  cracks radiating out from bottom corner.  I had it for ten days and never dropped or abused it at all .

  1. £295.61 for Sony to repair a cracked screen on a Z3 Compact which cost £300 or £21.29 to return the broken phone that cost me £5 to post. What an absolute rip off, will never buy Sony again !Screenshot_2015-03-31-20-25-12_kindlephoto-221596143.jpg
