Sorry to hear this, what I think may be going on here is a Do Not Disturb setting, however, it should not have turned on its own. Have a look in the following section.
Apps > Sounds & Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Automatic Rules > Check the rules by selecting them and turn them off if they are on.

Thanks, that was it. No idea how or why it turned on. I do use a Smart Connect Event , but that only turns mobile data off.
Seems a little strange, although it is great this has been resolved
Have you accidentaly set a rule for the "Do Not Disturb" function?
Pull down notifications, Do Not Disturb, More Settings, Automatic Rules
If you don't experience this in safe mode then it is indeed a third party app acting up, no way to know which, I would just back up everything and repair the phone with XC
