Hi,
Lately I've been having lots of problem with the charging of my Xperia Z2 phone, it's obviously not new and I got a new charger as well as a new DK36 magnetic dock charger, the phone is now charging perfectly fine when connected the phone USB port but when I place it into the DK36 magnetic charger it won't charge, or at least charge extremely slowly.
The LED indicator isn't flashing, it's just on, orange color as it should be and the phone indicating it is charging but in 15-30 minutes of charging it didn't go up a single percent, it actually went down 1 percent when I was checking a text message I recieved.
So either it is not charging magnetically, charging very slowly or just won't charge past 75% with the magnetic charger, it's difficult to say for sure.
Any ideas as to what could cause these kind of problems?
Thank you.
EDIT: Right now it seems it is just charging very, very slowly, it finally gone to 76% after nearly an hour. Regular USB charging working fine, really fast.

Check your magnetic charging port on your Z2 for any rust, debris or stains. Those will reduce the effectiveness of your magnetic charging. Also, make sure that the magnetic dock is connected to a reliable charger head.

Hi,
I don't see any major stains or debris, it looks a little used, that is a little scratched or rubbed. I should mention I got the phone from my brother and he tend to drop his phones a lot.
Anyway, I tried cleaning it from rust and such with a simple eraser a while back, I could try again.
As for a reliable charger head, it's a brand new original EP881 quick charger from the Sony Mobile Shop.
Also, it seems after a while the charging speed picked up a bit, since my original post it charged about 7 percent, it's at 82% now, it's still much, much slower than the USB port charging though.
I'll report back after I clean it again and test.
@Quester
OK, I used an eraser and a soft brush to clean the magnetic charging port on the phone, so far it seems to have helped, phone just finished charging, I guess I'll see over time how fast it really charging when I start charging at a lower battery percentage, but for now I'll consider this issue solved.
If it happens again I know where to come.
Thank you.
