My Xperia E5823 is also not connected to WiFi AC 5GHz, but it connects to WiFi N 5GHz (is connected to channels 36 - 64). 

Other devices connect to the router WiFi AC 5GHz. 

Sony Support RU my questions on this subject responds absurd and does not give any advice.

After updating to Android 7.0 (32.3.A.0.372) phone (E5823) started connect to WiFi AC.

Sony forcibly turned off WiFi AC Android MM.

The configuration in which it is disabled: oem\system-properties\config.prop

ro.somc.wifi.vht.disable=1

If you change the value to 0, then AC Wi-Fi is activated!

How exactly do I access that file. I tried multiple file browsers and even checked "OEM unlocking" in developer setting but I can't find it... do I need a rooted phone?
