unresponsive screen!

Hi everyone..

my problem is that my xperia z3 dual screen is unresponsive at all! i can't even do anything about it (log in, restart,backup..etc)

this is so frustrating since i can't even backup my data on my labtop, actually it says that there is no photos and vidoes which is pretty weird...the lower part is only responsive and it's useless (for camera button then i can't take photos because the icon is upward-.-)

A help would be really appreciated

thank you very much

Hi rem1,

Welcome to the community,

I'm sorry to hear about this issue, this may be related to hardware or software. To save the data it may be possible for you to us an OTG cable and a USB mouse, this way you could unlock the screen and attach to the PC so you can backup the content.

Once this has been done you could perform a software repair on the device to see if this helps resolve the issue.

Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:

1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

And Bridge for Mac:

1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.

I hope this helps.

You could change the pattern to a pin lock if you follow the steps on this post

I don't see why not, the mouse cursor will emulate a finger, so holding down the mouse button and dragging should hold the same result as tapping and dragging.
