Hi,
I got a notification yesterday on my sony Xperia Z3, asking for an update using Sony PC Companion, i did it and then it said that a network problem has occured, and from that point on, when i try to power the phone it says " the software update failed, make sure the phone is connected to the computer and try again "
I tried the "power button + volume up" when charging, the phone started powering on and off all the time and after an hour it got really hot ! I was so scared so I unplugged it. An now i ran out of solutions.
Please tell me I didn't lose my 1 month old Z3 already, please.

I tried PCC but the device can't be detected. all it says is there's no device connect/ error connecting the device. please I need your help.. this is also a month Old z3..

PLEASE HELP!!
I have the same problem. Software update failed. I tried the steps that you mentioned, but i have a problem charging my Z3. When i tried to connect my Cellphone to the charger, it will be stuck in a boot-loop " Sony Logo and the software update prompt".
I tried to press power button + volume up it will vibrate 3x but will be stuck in a boot-loop again, i even tried to press the small yellow button near the sim tray but to no avail.
Please help me solve this problem.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Just want to add that I too got stuck in the boot loop after a failed update, but just waited some time (while my Z1 was continously booting) for my battery to get charged (>80% is needed for the update I think PCC says) and then PCC did see my phone again and the update was a success. So from sloppy phone -> brick -> OK phone. Of course, I am not sure that charging did the trick, or just trying many times.
The failed update seemed to have corrupted my SD, so I choose to format it when promted. I then could use the PCC back-up I had made before, so got my contacts and music etc back. Sadly, the automatic installation of all my apps I hoped for did not start, so I now have a clean OK phone
