So, I bought a phone off Ebay...

Hi

I bought a (Z3 compact) phone from ebay.  Second hand but immaculate condition.  Almost a third of the price of a new one on Amazon.

The problem i have is that, although everything works, the phone did not bring through all my apps when i signed in to Google as expected (which made me suspicious) and it will not update from KitKat to a newer version.    The phone was factory reset when i got it.  I suspect it may have been "rooted" but I don't know much about that.  There is no sign of SuperUI or similar on the phone, that I can see.

Given the price, and that the battery is ok, I am not too bothered by this but I would like the option of upgrading to Marshmallow if I chose to do this.  Can anyone here help me work out why my phone is not updating?

I hadn't heard of that.  I will give it a try.

Thanks.
