"Google Play Store has Stopped" after Z5 Premium Marshmallow Update

As soon as I updated to Marshmallow, I keep getting the "Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped..." and the message keeps coming up every 5 seconds.

I tried clearing the cache, deleting data, uninstalling, disabling the app, force closing, signing out of google and back on.

Does not work.

I keep getting the pop up non-stop and it happened as SOON as it updated to Marshmallow.

Updated to marshmallow on my three month old Xperia Z5 and it completely messed it up! First Google play was uninstalled and you cannot re install it without surprisingly enough Google play! And all apps on the sd card no longer could connect to the phone! Eventually screen failed and the only thing I could do with my phone was click ok repeatedly on an error message saying that my system UI has stopped working. It just kept popping up! Ultimately had to work hard to connect to the computer and do a factory reset!

I did backup my phone through Pc Companion and then a software repair through xperia companion, now I have a well working android lollipop without any of my data! My phone and PC/Xperia companion are telling me the software is up to date and when trying to recover my data from the previous backup I get a message "the backup has been done with newer android version!" I'm now screwed completely!!! What do I do? Is there no Sony representative in this forum??? No reaction to any of the posts??? Has no one tested this software before release???

;_; im having the same issue.

First day i got a few pop ups with the "google play store has stopped working"

Now my phone is completely UNUSEABLE! the screen went black and upon turning it back on i get 2 popups on a black screen saying:"Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" and "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped"

I CANT USE MY PHONE AT ALL!

I really dont want to do a factory reset because I had some important photos for my portfolio for school Slightly_frowning_Face

Hi all,

Got the same problem. Bell company. Canada. E6653 Xperia Z5.
Google play store error. (if you try to download any app to download again Play Store you will get the sooooo nice UI error)
Talked with William Isidro from Chat support Sony.
Response RESET YOUR PHONE.
Ok tired to discuss with someone from Sony support that doesn´t even know how the menu appears on Marshmallow.
Phone reset via PC compannion (actually I have 2 one is from my girlfriend sam mode E6653)

And now... for some extrange reason... my girlfriend´s phone has the compilation 32.1.F....Marshmallow while mine still have the
compilation 32.0.A......Lollipop.... O_o

Talked again with some guy at Sony chat named Camo.

Well I asked why this was happenning... and if you read until now his response will be great.

BECAUSE THE VERSION THAT YOU HAVE DONLOADED IS A BETA

O_O

So i´ve asked what should I do now...

Response: you need to wait until your IMEI is registered one more time on the cell phone company and then download the update from google servers.... blah blah blah.

Why it is working on my girlfriend´s phone? She has dowladed the same Marshmallow version at the same time...

Sony...Are you serious?  Your support is really bad... and you have no idea what is going on. At least your support guys.

Best Regards,

Matias

@Wally1

If the backup was done with a different android version you won't be able to retrieve it.

According to Xperia Blog.......Sony Canada has pulled the Marshmallow update due to the Google Play issues until it can provide a fix Slightly_frowning_Face

Good.

They better come up with a fix soon.

I'm tired of pressing "ok" on my google play error.

And from what I've read, factory resetting my phone could

potentially be a BAD idea, so i won't be doing that

any time soon.

@MakeAndroidGreat

why would it be a bad idea?
