As soon as I updated to Marshmallow, I keep getting the "Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped..." and the message keeps coming up every 5 seconds.
I tried clearing the cache, deleting data, uninstalling, disabling the app, force closing, signing out of google and back on.
Does not work.
I keep getting the pop up non-stop and it happened as SOON as it updated to Marshmallow.

I got to the point I just decided to go through with the Software repair to see if it fixes the Play Store problem... its been sitting in "Repairing your Xperia device" for around a hour now... the bar hasn't moved at all. is this normal? I'm getting worried. I don't have the best internet connection so I'm not sure if this is what is causing the problem?
Thank you.
I called Bell - they have no solution. Said a number of people have called in, could only say they hope a fix is released soon.
My phone is locked so that wont work for me the message keeps popping up and wont go any further mr screen wont load up
Check the suggestions on this therad or contact your Local support but this is most likely on Google side as there are other brands with similar/same issue.
PC companion didnt have anything in it to fix this problem. I clicked on "Support Zone" then "Phone/Tablet Software Update". From there I selected "Repair Phone" and I get a message saying "there is no software available for your device"
So fare there have been no useful hints on this thread other than doing a factory wipe of the phone. It would be nice if someone from Sony could comment on this issue as it seems to be a rather common one.
