Hey! Guys I have been using Sony Xperia Z1 since September last year and I am having a problem currently in which my voice clarity according to the people on the other line is blurry/not audible or not just clear seems to be some problem with my speaker i ran a diagnostic test and it passed all i can hear people when i use loud speaker and they can hear me back but when it comes to normal calls without the loud speaker they can't hear a thing please help although my headphones work when i call people thats the only way I am calling people right now!
Any Solution would be appreciated! TY XO
it seems to be a hardware problem i will now have to take my xperiaz1 to a service center anyway thanks a ton to everyone that responded
OK, tried everything, I have ALL latest updates, I tried repair mode, I tried safe mode, I disabled sound reduction but this problem remains!!
People cannot hear me clearly when I use my phone, if however I plug-in a headset everything is clear and there are no issues.
What is the fix here? I don't want to lose my phone for 3 days to a repair centre. Is the Mic broken? Will Lollipop (coming soon) update fix this?
I may add that on speaker phone the other party can hear clear when i speak very close to the mic
Hi,
try recording a video and see if you get any sound on your vid. If you do, then your mic is OK and the issue is a soft one, if you don't then you should consider a visit to service center, your mic may be at fault.
did this issue appear after installing any app ?
You can also run diagnostics to check the mic functionality : diagnostics should be installed on your phone, you can also get it on playstore :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonymobile.androidapp.functiontester&hl=fr
let us know about the issue
Hi
I can hear sound after recording the video. And I have done diagnostics for my microphone and loudspeaker and it was OK. I actually do not know did this problem come after installing any applications.
During the recording, did you try to speak on your mic ? cause the phone may be getting the sound from the secondary mic. try to say something placing your mouth at the bottom of the phone as you do during a call, this should sound loud on the video.
Anyway, if it sounds loud, and I think it will :
good news then, your mic should be OK, better have a software issue than a hardware one.
Still, you got to solve your problem :
1 -try to boot in safe mode : this will disable all installed apps except built-in ones which are supposed (i said, supposed) to be safe. if any app is preventing the mic from working properly you will know it this way
2- consider backin-up all your date (photos, music...) and try a repair with PCC
Did you check the grill at the bottom of the phone to see if the holes are not loaded with small particle of fine dust?
Wen you submerge the phone in water usually because of the water covering the holes the sound of the speaker is very low until it dries and the same thing i think is happening with the microphone because is located benith the same grill. I suppose the grill can be loaded with dust...
Did you notice if the loudspeaker has normal level?
