Hi all,
First post here. I just bought my z2 and I absolutely love it but am deeply disheartened and concerned by one problem I'm having which pretty much is the most important thing I need.
Almost every time I make a call - the mute, speaker, end call or other buttons get pressed while I'm talking. I've tried to make sure that the proximity sensor is covered by my ear and it still happens. I've also run the diagnostics and although they pass I've noticed that the vibration for the proximity sensor test does not always stay on if I put the phone up against my ear and move it around. Eventually the vibration turns off and some on screen buttons are pressed.
Is this a problem with only my Z2 or a design fault. I'm gravely concerned that replacing it with a new one is going to cause the same issue. For a phone that cost me an arm and a leg I wasn't expecting problems that I never had with any other phone.
Please help.
Thanks.
I'm having the same exact problem.
I'v tested this by making a call, then placing my phone on a table. When I cover the sensor the screen goes dark.
Now, heres the funny thing. Although the screen stays black while calling, every keypress on the dark screen is registered and inputted on the phone.
When I expose the sensor again and the screen lights up, all kinds of funny things has been pressed on my screen.
Note: This does not happen when answering a incomming call while the phone is already locked, only when the call is done from an unlocked phone.
I have the same issue. While on call, I get different kinds of buttons pressed. Once I noticed it turned my WiFi off, and another time I found the phone went into the Album, and once my blue tooth was turned on.
I have never set "Double tap wake up" ON, neither I set "glove mode" ON.
Another thing that bothered me is when I am on call using Viber, I receive sound notifications from other apps like Whatsapp. Now imagine a sound notification with full volume when the speaker is stuck to your ear ... pretty unpleasant.
I have read most of the replies in this thread but none seem to offer a valid solution.
Sony support responded only once. This is unacceptable from Sony. But they seem not to care really.
I am even having this problem.. The notification bar gets pulled whole I am on Phone Call or Viber call.. Sometimes even the buttons on screen gets pressed.. The screen is hypersensitive... Sony, please do something about this at the earliest.
This issue is too annoying and still present in 314 update.. The main problem is even though proximity sensor is covered and screen is off, the top notification bar remains active to touch. So because of that, all the weird things are happening like pulling down notification panel, toggles are getting pressed etc...
Because of this issue, I have to press the power button as soon as I receive call so that I can avoid all these things while on call.. Same issue is there while I am on viber calls too..
Sony, kindly consider this issue on priority so that we get a fix in next firmware update. Believe me, this is really annoying.
+1 on this issue.
Sony never read these forums as it would mean that they would have to sort the problems that have been posted, as it is they can deny any knowledge of any sort off issues with there devices. Mind probably no better than a lot of other faceless useles ripoff corporations.
