I would like to know how to activate the night mode on my xperia Z5. I've tried already multiple things but nothing seems to work out. When I look into the System-UI-tuner it isn't availible and also when I use the Night mode enabler wich is downloadable from google play it doesn't do what it supposed to do.

Does anyone know if it's even possible on the xperia Z5? And if so how to activate?

Hey the solution to this is quite simple. Google actually implemented night mode into all Nougat devices but for some reason took it out of the final build (Not Sony's fault) but left all the code for it. To re-enable stock or native night mode the steps are below.

1) Do what the other guy said and hold down the gear icon in the top right of the notification bar, once a little wrench appears next to it and System UI Tuner is enabled then continue onto the next step.

2) Download the app "Night Mode Enabler" from the Google Play Store and once the app is open then follow it through till you get to the System UI Tuner.

3) Uninstall the app from above and add night mode to you quick settings tray in the notifications bar and enjoy.

Is it compatible with sony xperia x? Tried the steps but no night mode was added on the notification bar setting. Please help.

It does not work on Android 7.1 and up, google completly removed it. You sadly have to use a 3rd party app until Android O releases

Go to the System UI Tuner menu which is located at the very bottom of the settings page above the About Phone tab.

Open it and post a screenshot.

At the end of the article it says that night light (new name for night mode) will only be available for specific hardware. Do you know if the Z5 has that specific hardware?
