Hi
Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere but I couldn't find a suitable article and am very new to Android so this may be me being stupid!
I purchased a Z5 Compact in the UK about 2 weeks ago. I had fingerprint manager set up and it was functioning fine. On Sunday morning just gone the phone started displaying an error message and would not allow me to unlock the phone using my fingerprint. Shortly after that the whole Fingerprint management section disappeared from the Security settings. I have tried closing down the phone etc but nothing has changed and the fingerprint management section has not reappeared.
I am not sure where to look to see whether my phone has performed an update recently that could have resulted in the functionality being removed/lost but any guidance that can be offered would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Try factory reset. if it doesnt work, connect to PC companion and repair.
Thanks. Factory reset hasn't helped so will try the PC companion option
I have the same problem, I just bought 2 Sony Xperia Z5 phones in Spain (so it's not the US version, model E6653) and in only one phone the fingerprint manager feature is not available, in the second one I am using it without any problems. I guess it was the software update, in the one that works first I set my fingerprints and then do the update to andorid 6.0, the second phone first update and never see the option to set my fingerprints, but in the "Applications" section I can see the "Fingerprints Administration" running in boths phones.
How can I solve this problem ?
I forgot to say that I have already tried the "factory reset" and it didn't work.
Thanks.
Same here
after the 224 update my fingerprintscanner started to behave wonkey. After the newest update it vanished completely. Restarted my phone at least 5 times, re-installed the System Fingerprint apps, booted into save mode. Nothing helped.
I already had to send my Phone in once for hardware repair for the exact same reason.
What is up with that Sony? The build quality of the Z5 is otherwise spottless. How can it be, that the fingerprintsensor is allready not working, not 2 months after it has been replaced...?
