Hey guys.
M stuck here.
I went into the security tab on my Xperia Z and clicked on Encrypt Phone.
Now my phone is encrypted.
Every time I restart my phone, I need to enter the password to get into the phone.
I am ok with that.
But then I need to put the password to go past the SCREEN LOCK every time.
I don't want that to happen.
I went ahead and tried to change the screen lock to SWIPE or NONE, but it won't let me choose that option.
It says DISABLED BY ADMINISTRATOR, ENCRYPTION POLICY OR CREDENTIAL STORAGE.
I tried to decrypt my phone, but it says Encrypt Phone---Encrypted.
If I click on that option, nothing happens.
Is there any way I can put the Screen Lock to SWIPE or NONE now.
Please help.
Thanks.

Well, this is all according to specification. If you want to remove the encryption (to use swipe or no screen lock) you need to either reset or repair your phone. Please note that all data stored on the phone will be deleted when doing this.

Sorry to bring up this old post, I was looking for the same answer.
This is according to spec, but it's totally not usable. Encryption needs a long passphrase to resist offline bruteforce attacks, while it is not necessary for the screen lock since it will lock itself out after a few attempts.
Hi,
I also done the same and I'm uncomfortable with encoding my pin code everytime I unlock my phone. How do I remove the encryption of my phone (i.e. Sony Xperia Z2 also). Please note that this feature of encryption is hassle to the user.
Thanks!
I wish to clearly understand. Once the data has been encrypted, is there truly NO WAY to retrieve or backup/restore encrypted data from any Sony Xperia phone?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but, as I understand:
And this flawed specification has existed for years, with no viable solution, corect? So, rooting the phone and voiding one's warranty appears to be the only course of action for anyone who wishes to backup their encrypted data, correct?
i had the same problem...jst go to settings>security>clear credential>remove all certificates...
no data will be remover from ur ph
