I have a new X5 compact that I got at the beginning of the month. I was trying to debug the wife's phone problems and swapped her sim into my phone to test it. Ever since I swapped my sim back, I get continuous "Could not send. Message will be sent when service becomes available" messages, which render the phone unusable. I can send and receive text/mms messages without issue.
Thanks in advance for any help. I'm at my wits end.

Hi @legodude, welcome to our community!
I'm so sorry to hear about that, must be very irritating seeing this message when everything works.
It does sound like a message is stuck and it's trying to contact your carrier and trying to send this message over and over, do you remember if you sent a text message or MMS from your wife's phone when you were troubleshooting it?
I would recommend the same as @NeoBeum wrote, get in contact with your carrier and they should be able to send you a configuration text or if they can stop and reset the SMS/MMS services on your subscription.
Let us know how it went!
Thanks for the help everyone, I fixed it by dumb luck. For the record, I just popped the wife's sim in, saw that it got service, and removed it.
When I first got this phone, I had tried to send a MMS without setting up the access points configuration, so the send failed. Somewhere along the line I set up access points, and switched to Google's default messaging app, and life was good. Somehow, popping in her sim made the system realize that this MMS from four weeks ago wasn't sent, hence the error messages. On a whim (having forgotten about that MMS completely), I reset the default messaging app to Sony's, and heard her phone buzz, and more, importantly, the error message was gone as that MMS was sent and released from purgatory.
Not a great design in many areas that something like this can happen, but a pretty edge case.
